My poor T/A at DU has changed our resort for us three times already. We were booked into POFQ then I upgraded to the Contemporary. I read a lot about the renovations going on there and got scared and switched back to the POFQ, then my husband really wanted to be at a monorail resort so we switched back to the Contemporary. Now I just asked the agent to see if we can get into the Polynesian. I think I have lost my mind

Has anyone else ever changed their reservations or is it just me?

Lyn

You are not alone. We have changed our reservations several times before too.

No, it's not just you - I've changed my resort twice, my dates once, and looking to maybe add another day on. I am always afraid the cm at cro is going to say something like, "you again????" Don't feel bad, the cm I was talking w/the other day said that you can change your reservations 100 times and they don't mind

Does it cost???? Well we had two rooms booked at CSR for Oct 2 - 9th to take advantage of free dining. Decided to ask the TA to check how much more it would be upgrade to AKL. After checking with Disney, the TA told us it would be apx. $1000. We were hooked but I knew the amount seemed to low - sure enough after getting our hopes up the TA called back very apologetic. She had given Disney our conf. # but I guess they didn't check closely - it was $1000 extra per room! Too late, we were already hooked on AKL maybe they'll upgrade to make amends. :rotfl2:

Let's see...this trip started at FW cabins, then went to POR, then switched to two connecting rooms at POR, then decided we needed even MORE space, and switched to 2BR Villa at SSR. I've no doubt I'd change my mind again, but we're booked for Christmas day, and I'm sure that everything is already booked. But I've looked, oh, yes, I've looked.

Our first trip I went from split stays at ASMo/Poly to CBR/Poly to WL/Poly to all WL...BUT...I had been paying on the ressies on and off throughout this time, and by the time I got to the last ressie, all of the money I had paid was refunded to my credit card because they treated the last was as a cancellation with a new ressie (does that make sense the way I wrote it-it's been a long day... ) :earboy2:

LOL! This thread is SO about me! :rotfl:

Let's see....

:rolleyes1

This trip started out to be the week before Christmas at the WL. Then, the dates changed to the week after Thanksgiving. Next, the resort changed to CBR. FINALLY, we're set with the 1st week in OCTOBER :blush:at CBR with free dining.

I SWORE to my TA that I wouldn't change it again, and I certainly don't intend to. :bitelip:

Me too, Me too! I do it every year my poor husband nevers know where we are staying until weeks before. Started this year at Contempory, then went to WL,POFQ, thought about Swan(never changed ressie) Staying at POFQ. When :earboy2: :Pinkbounc I call WDW ressies I don't like putting in my phone number( my husband says "they know it's you") OH Well!!!

me too I am on my 6th choice now for our dec 31st stay - I have gone for the contemporary - I have eaten @ & visited many times and I like the resort. It has a magical feel even though it may not be the prettiest resort. I am hoping for a renovated room. Those flat screen tvs are so cool. :cool1: I love the stores there they sell brilliant things. And the monorail model is so cool. We al agreed if we had room we would have one of those. :cool1:

We have never changed our reservations. We have our favorite resorts, actually one in the EPCOT area, Y&B and 2 in the Magic Kingdom area, Poly and WL. We discuss before hand where we will be spending most our time and pick. Thats it, we call, reserve, send in deposit and then count down the days. People wonder why the CRO CM's are persnickity on the phone and I believe its the guests with all the questions and changes to reservations. I want this view, this room, this building, towel animals etc. Before the internet and all these forums, guests got most of their WDW info by discovering things by themselves, talking to other WDW guests and Birdbaums guide and I believe had more fun. Now with all the forums on WDW its become nuts to everything.. I feel guests ought to be charges for any change on a reservation, work the plan at home, all the decisions made and then call and reserve and forget it, what you forget or didn't get can be had on another vacation to the World, thats why we won't do split stays. Like parking our arses in one resort and if we see something else we might like we plan for the next trip to go there or do that. The world is a tough place to see in 5 days and our trips have increased to 12 night stays.

I am glad to see that I am not the only one who changes their minds. I am really happy that we are at the Polynesian now. That is really my favorite resorts.

I disagree.... I think if I am paying top dollar for a vacation I should be able to request and change as much as I want... (Not that I will get it)... Plus usually when I change my reservation it only benefits WDW because I am usually upgrading... :rotfl:

I totally agree - most people upgrade, not downgrade - charging people to change reservations would stop people from upgrading, therefore spending less on their resort accomadations. I don't think I have ever seen anyone start off at the GF and change to the POP. As I stated earlier, the CM I spoke w/was more then happy to change our ressies - she went above and beyond to find a room at AKL that was available for our stay.

Well, I'm glad you're not in charge of Disney policies. ::MinnieMo

I've switched us around quite a few times since January. I'm not making outrageous requests, just switching to a resort that meets our needs (and theming, too!). Situations change and sometimes resorts do, too.

I've only changed once. This past October we were booked at Pop for $99 a night and then a code came out and we switched to POR for $89 a night.

You are absolutely right. My reservation started out at $1200.00 and it now $2511.00, I think I have more than paid to change my reservation without them adding on extra charges to make the changes. What do you think?
Lyn

I've changed4 times and I'll change 4 more if I feel it suits us. We started out at Pop. DH paid for my half for my birthday and really wanted me to budget this time. I'm going with my brother and we are both commandos so we didn't really care, just wanted a place to lay our heads. Then we started thinking how we'd really like a hot-tub after the long days in the parks so we changed to CSR. That change lasted about 7 minutes b/c we decided their really wasn't much of a price difference between CSR and WL and WL has the added attraction of a balcony or patio. Well, then I had a small windfall that happened to cover the cost of upgrading to our VERY favorite resort BWI. If I happen to have another unexpected windfall, who knows maybe I'll switch to the Poly. Like someone else posted most changes are upgrades and I've never known a company to become upset that you'd like to spend more per night if you decide to switch resorts.

Well not quite that many. Let's see. We've changed our reservations 5-6 times and I'm still not sure if we're done.

as a matter of fact, I did the exact same thing you did!! went from POR to CR back to POR then to POLY!!!!!!!!!!!! I am very happy with my final decision!! I am getting what I REALLY wanted to begin with!

Have fun...aloha! :sunny:
