..to pass your Driving Test?? :)

I say this partially since my friend failed for his 3 time and I wanted to make him feel better, but also because I, like the cat before me, am incredibly nosy.. :teeth:

I haven't taken a driving test so I can't say I have ever failed... :rotfl2:

I passed 1st time after 25 lessons:thumbsup2 Mind you that was in 1988 so it may have been easier then:lmao:

I passed second time around after about 40 hours of lessons, first test i clipped someones wind mirror and did a wheel spin, i'm glad though i didnt pass first time around.

1st time for me too - but I hate to admit that was in 1979!! I grew up in area where the last bus ran at 4pm so most of my friends and I took our tests at 17. I had a lesson booked immediately before the test and the instructor managed to reduce me to tears - thank goodness I clamed down before the test itself.

I passed first time. I got 10 lessons for my 17th birthday in the August and pass the following February. I think I had about 1 lesson a week. My dad's company car insurance wouldn't let me drive his car while I was learning so only every had professional lessons.

My eldest DD is learning to drive at the moment :)

I passed 1st time. 10 lessons and the test. No private practice as I'd just left university, in my first job 180 miles from "home".

I passed first time too, I think I had about 20 lessons and that was way back in 1982 :)

I passed 1st time after about 35 hours of lessons. :goodvibes

I passed second time (a long time ago at age 17!).

Eldest DD passed second time too, but youngest DD is having a really tough time - she takes her fifth test tomorrow!

I wasn't too surprised when she failed the first one, then she had the same examiner the second time and failed again - I was a bit surpirsed, but understood it shook her a bit to see the same examiner coming out to test her! Test no. three was the same examiner again! And she failed again  Her instructor had a bit of a heated discussion with the test centre about it (apparently this particular examiner is well known for being really tough, so to get him three times in a row seemed like incredible bad luck!). So, for no. four she booked at a different centre and failed on the bay parkig in the test centre car park because she'd never practised there! Number five was booked for the day that turned out to be the snowy day, so it was cancelled - and was rebooked for tomorrow.

I so hope she passes this time - apart from the expense , it's beginning to demoralise her (and no wonder!). Fingers crossed.

I passed 2nd time (many years ago when it was much easier) It took my DD the best part of a year and 4 tests to pass hers. It was very upsetting when she failed but I just booked the next test as soon as she arrived home from the test centre so she would stick at it. It was well worth it in the end. Most of her friends are either learning or have passed their tests now and it seems to have taken two or three goes before they passed.

Good luck to your DD for tomorrow Hilary. I'll have my fingers crossed for her :)

2nd time for me. DH and DD passed on their first test.

I passed first time - back in 1978! DH passed second time. DD1 and DS passed third time, DD2 passed second time.

I passed first time and would hate to do it again, also I think it was much easier then as no theory test!

I passed on my third attempt ~ No idea how many lessons I had. Couldn't keep my nerves under control until the third attempt.

I passed 3rd time.

the 1st time i took my test i took it whilst i was in the forces. i was driving out of camp in a long wheel based land rover under the eagle eyed MTO (motor transport officer) part of his job was to take us for driving tests. a soldier who knew i was starting my test was acting the goat by jumping on and off the pavement in front of my vehicle. the MTO said "next time he does that drive over him" so next time he jumped out in front of me i drove over him breaking both his legs. as you can imagine the MTO went beserkl. My excuse was that i only carried out the manouvre he wanted me to do. as you can imagine i did not pass my test. i did apologise to the lad i knocked over but you can bet that no-one ever messed about with learner drivers on or off camp:rotfl2:

1st time for me too
with about 8 lessons

I passed first time, after 29 hours of lessons. So did both my sisters - one had 31 hours and the other had 65!!
My housemate failed his automatic driving test 3 times (for majors, too, like running a stop sign :scared: )
