(Updated 7/27) How Many Times Can We Switch Hotels? - Tokyo Disney TR May 2025

Wow, 6 hotel split stays might be a record on the Dis for Disney stay! But the whole trip sounds awesome and Im here for it!
It was definitely a lot! But it ended up being awesome - I don't know that I would recommend it but I wouldn't recommend against it, if that makes sense. :) Thanks for reading!!

More Castle Pictures - Sat May 24, 2025 (part 6)

Sorry, just a bunch more pictures of the Beauty and the Beast queue. I'm going to say it a million more times but the theming is just incredible.

Obligatory serious selfie.

Gargoyles! And forced perspective - it looks normal size even though I know it's not.

They have the same gargoyle lamp posts as they have at Disney World outside of Be Our Guest but we had a good amount of time right by them so pictures! :)

Sad face.
IMG_8042.JPG
Scared!

IMG_8047.JPG
I almost wish they had the Beast or someone peeking out of that window. Also, look at the shield above it!

IMG_8049.JPG
Rose in the tile on the ground!
IMG_8052.JPG
Very ornate doors. And the shield/crest again. :)

IMG_8057.JPG
Just a fun angle. :)

And finally, 35 minutes later, we made it to the inside portion of the queue!

Inside Queue and AMAZING Pre-Show - Sat May 24, 2025 (part 7)

The line was still moving pretty slowly through here, but there were new things to look at!
IMG_8064.JPG
Lumiere and Cogsworth!

PXL_20250524_055727896.MP.jpg
And the Beast's chair! You'll notice the footstool there...it moved! It wagged it's tail a bit. :)

We spent about 15 minutes in this room and then moved into this little hallway.
IMG_8066.JPG
Nothing super Beauty and the Beast themed, just fancy castle themed. But the next room...
PXL_20250524_055958279.MP.jpg
Mrs Potts and Chip and the hat rack! They moved a bit periodically, the hat rack rotating a bit, etc.

We moved pretty quickly through this room and then into a room lined with suits of armor.
IMG_8071.JPG
The suits snored a bit, which was funny. There were more of the shields in here too -
IMG_8073.JPG
I'm a fan. :)

Ok, video clips of the queue up to this point (with one bonus from slightly later in the queue/after the pre-show):
You can see the footstool wagging it's tail, etc. So cute!

After the suit of armor hallway, we joined a larger open room (which is where the fastpass line meets up, so the fastpass line skips the rooms with Lumiere and Cogsworth, and Mrs Potts, and the suit of armor), and pretty soon went into the pre-show room.

Guys, the pre-show was freaking amazing. It's meant to be the main entryway of the castle, with the main doors behind you and then two giant staircases on each side, and it tells the story of Beauty and the Beast up to about Be Our Guest (as far as I could tell). But the effects! Amazing. There's a Belle animatronic, and a Beast animatronic, and even the rose. It was just mind-boggling - and a pre-show no less! Trevor and I both filmed it and I stuck both of them together in one video for science! comparison purposes and because I could.

But man - just amazing.

After the pre-show (and with our minds thoroughly blown) we were herded into two lines on the other side, leading up to the loading area. And again, more awesome theming - they had this rack of keys hanging up:
PXL_20250524_061116186.jpg
And the missing key with the claw marks?
IMG_8083.JPG
For the West Wing!

We were in the kitchen, as they got ready to prepare the dinner for Belle.
PXL_20250524_061337977.jpg
Hello stove!

and 70 minutes after we got in line, we were one teacup away from getting on the ride!
IMG_8093.JPG
It really felt like the line wasn't moving at all until we got to nearly the end of the first room (the one with Cogsworth and Lumiere) and then it started moving pretty fast. And after the pre-show it was moving pretty steadily to get on the ride. So not bad. And after seeing the amazing pre-show and such, I was super excited for the ride itself.

Following! We are going in March and I’m super curious how you found switching hotels, mainly how they handled your luggage! I can’t decide between a few of them and I think we may end up moving a bit.

Following and you already answered the question I could not get an answer for, what parts of the queue I will miss with the fastpass. So although I have the unlimited vacation package booked too, I now know to ride it at least once with waiting in the normal line.
I would appreciate it, if you have similar advice for the other rides in the two parks.

Thanks for reading! Switching hotels was SUPER easy - waaaaaaaaay easier than I expected. This really only holds for the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel, Hotel MiraCosta, and Fantasy Springs, cause we didn't transfer from Toy Story Hotel to another one, but for those three, we just used the tv and they had a menu thing where you told them what hotel you were transferring to, how many bags you had, and that was it. We left the bags in the room, and then when we checked in at the new hotel and got our room, our bags were in the room. Same thing transferring rooms within the same hotel - put on the tv how many bags you have, and that you're staying in the hotel, and boom, bags go from the old room to the new room. It was not a hassle at all. The only downside of switching was that we didn't have a hotel in the middle of the day if we wanted to rest at all.

Thanks for reading! Glad I could help :) As far as other rides, I think the only one that has a queue that's different is Anna and Elsa's Frozen Journey. That one if you're able to do the regular queue I'd recommend it - there's some cute things you'll miss if you only do the fastpass line. I think the rest of the fastpass lines all go parallel with the standby line. The only one I'm not sure about is Soaring - we only ever did the fastpass but I think that one goes through the cool parts of the standby line.

Gaston's Tavern - Sat May 24, 2025 (part 8)

PXL_20250524_061657172.MP.jpg

And off we went! We didn't film or take any pictures on our first ride cause we just wanted to enjoy it. And how did we like it? Well, it was really good - great practical effects and of course that transformation from the Beast to the prince effect is amazing. But (and I recognize this is an unpopular opinion) I think my expectations were too high or I bought too much into the hype - I liked it but it wasn't like life-changing or my favorite ride ever, which I honestly was kind of expecting. I just wasn't blown away in the way I was somehow expecting. But it's still amazing and absolutely a fantastic ride. I guess that's the problem with reading the internet hype. To be fair, I don't know what I was expecting - it was a great ride. I just somehow didn't connect with it emotionally.

IMG_8094.JPG
Mosaic shield on the way out.
IMG_8099.JPG
Carriage! :)

The ride doesn't dump into a gift shop, but there is a gift shop right nearby so we spent some time looking in there (and buying stuff :) ), and then time for food!
IMG_8100.JPG
IMG_8101.JPG
I wanted the Croque Monsieur, and to try the Berry Cheer drink. There wasn't much of a line at all, which was nice - I think we only waited like 3 minutes or so. Trevor went off to look for a table though there was plenty of space.
IMG_8102.JPG
Could have sat down and taken a chess break!

Ok food!
IMG_8103.JPG
This was the Berry Cheer drink- a mixed berry drink with foam on top. This was so good! I think it was my favorite drink at the entire resort. Highly recommend.

You can kind of see Trevor's plate there in the background cause I apparently forgot to take a picture of it *facepalm*. The sausage in the pretzel bun Trevor liked, and the potato gratin he didn't like but I really liked.

My croque monsieur!
IMG_8104.JPG
Ok I lied that's the wrapper for my croque monsieur but isn't that adorable?
IMG_8105.JPG
The food itself was less good. There was sauerkraut on it! I was just expecting ham and cheese and then sauerkraut popped up - bleh. We also got these little round potato things called "Hashed potatoes with onion" and those were delicious, so it kind of made up for it.

At this point we were figuring out what to do next and the wait times were weirding me out - they all seemed super low, for Tokyo Disney on a Saturday. Winnie the Pooh for example was only 50 minutes! I wasn't sad about it, but it was weird. We decided to walk more into Fantasyland, but first, pictures!

Number One Duck! - Sat May 24, 2025 (part 9)

IMG_8117.JPG
Trevor trying to lift Gaston's stein. :)

The rest of the theming in there was great -
IMG_8119.JPG
Marie! The baguettes! And Belle offering reading lessons - I love it!

As we left the Beauty and the Beast area towards Fantasyland, we ran into the Donald Duck parade!

I'm glad we didn't like camp out for it, but it was cute. Donald is very excited to be celebrated :) Afterwards though we decided to go for Small World, cause it had the Groot overlay!
IMG_8121.JPG
As we walked up it was playing the Avengers theme song in the Small World smile which was awesome.

Had to get a picture of Trevor with the sign, him being a big Marvel fan:
IMG_8127.JPG

It was posting a 15 minute wait and we waited about that, maybe a little bit less. But the indoor queue was adorable! Lots of super cute Joey Chou art.
IMG_8135.JPG
IMG_8136.JPG
There's a giant mural across from the loading area too:
IMG_8138.JPG
Just so cute! There on the left above the archway you can kind of see the little train there--it moves and goes around! Too bad we didn't get a video.

Anyways, once on the ride the Groot started basically immediately.
IMG_8141.JPG
IMG_8143.JPG

I didn't realize though that Small World in Tokyo also had a bunch of Disney characters throughout the ride!
IMG_8144.JPG
Anna and Elsa and Olaf!!

This is so helpful, thank you! Now I won’t stress about trying to find the exact same room type to pair with our vacation package.

This is how I felt about Disney Sea as a whole. Looking forward to doing the new rides there next year and seeing what my friend thinks at least.

I'm glad! It really is super easy - no need to stress. It's nicer to have the same room type cause then you have a room in the middle of the day, but I cannot stress how simple it is without having to haul your bags down to bell services.

ah yea I can see that too - I really enjoyed it but I somehow had seen less crazy hype on the park itself so it helped. I hope you like the new rides - I really liked Fantasy Springs!
