How many taxis?

If you just want to grab a quick cab ride instead of waiting for the bus??

Can you get a cab on the run anywhere? DTD late, MK close, Resort to Resort at dinner time?

Just wondering if Disney has plenty of taxis around?

There are usually some taxis in the theme park parking areas, but you may need to ask/look for them. I've seen taxis from time to time at some resorts (GF, CR, Poly), but not at others (CSR, WL). I'm sure the Bell Captain can call one for you at the resort if there is not one waiting.

We were there in Nov. and didn't see lots of cabs around, but there always seemed to be some available just about anywhere we went. DTD had lots available, especially throughout the evening. There were always some at every theme park.

Last time we were there, we caught a taxi from MGM to our resort. I felt sick and didn't want to wait for the bus. It was totally worth the money b/c we zipped back to the resort. What I remember were people in the the parking lot, near the buses, that we coordinating the taxis. I think they worked for the taxi company, not Disney. We approached the man, he got on a walkie talkie and the taxi appeared a minute or two later.

I don't recall seeing taxis just hanging around the resort entrances but as the previous poster said, I'm sure it can be easily arranged.

The Deluxe resorts have taxis ususally waiting outside their main entrance (at least the Epcot resorts do). If one is not there a Cast Member will get one for you right away. I don't know if they are waiting outside the moderate or value resorts or if a CM has to get one for you.
Taxis do wait outside the theme parks. I have read that they are past the Disney buses. This is not the case for the MK since only Disney buses are allowed near the entrance. From the MK you can go to any MK resort to catch a taxi or maybe there are some at the TTC.....not sure. I would simply walk to the Contemporary or monorail over to any MK resort for a taxi.
