How many suitcases do you take?

LOL Jill! I'm glad he makes so many people smile. I just love him to pieces! :teeth:

And to keep this on topic....

When Tigger goes on vacation he packs very light, sometimes he even forgets his tooth paste which is why he has that "my breath tastes horrible" look on his face! "p

For my DH, DD, and myself we check two bags and each carry on one smaller bag or backpack. We mix the clothes between the checked bags, just in case one gets lost , which we unfortunately found out the hard way ! In our carryons : DH carries the "techie" bag with the laptop, camera, DVDs, etc. I carry a change of clothes for all (again found out the hard way !!) and toiletries, meds. I also wear a fanny pack with the travel documents and info. DD carries her "busy" stuff and that's it -- she has motion sickness issues, so even though she's getting old enough to be responsible for much more, I want her hands free ! (also, found out the Hard way !).

30 bags, holy you know what, and I thought that I packed a lot!!!

We take one large suitcase each for 5 days. We always take our back packs as carry ons. I usually have snacks packed in there. I always bring an extra duffle for stuff I buy. LL Bean and Eddie Bauer have great duffles that fold up and can be placed in the front pocket of your suitcase.

Now when we went on the 7 day cruise and spent 3 days at Disney in June we had a lot of stuff. We each(hubby and I) had a large suitcase we also had a garment bag and a small suitcase plus our back packs. I think on the way home we had a duffle too! We bought so much stuff. All together I think that our luggage weighed 300 pounds and that was for 2 people. I don't want to have to carry that much stuff home again. I think that I will pack much lighter the next time we go on a cruise. :rolleyes1

We are a family of 2 adults and 2 kids. When we travel by plane we manage with 1 checked rollerbag each and a backpack each for carryon. That's for a trip of anywhere from 7 - 10 days. Sometimes I also carry a swimbag preloaded with water shoes, bathing suits, towels and goggles - that makes it so easy to go for a swim even if your room isn't ready yet. I also usually have a flat bag packed that carries all the polar fleece jackets and sweatshirts once we arrive in Florida. I think we'd be able to get away with a lot less if we were going in the summer, but since we usually go between November and January, you have to be prepared for every kind of weather.

KimR - May I just say thank you! I'm glad to hear about someone else who packs a lot and I also think laundry is a bad word when you're on vacation. On our last two WDW trips we've also done the Disney cruise and we've been away for 17 and 18 days. Thank goodness we drove on both of those trips, because even with the back seat removed from the minivan, things were tight.

We are a family of 2 adults and 1 kid, we always fly. we take 1 big suitcase on wheels, 1 smaller suitcase, each of us has a backpack and we check our suitcases. everytime we say why did i bring so much! it has gotten better the last couple of trips. it's hard to bring stuff back home and i like the idea of bringing a duffle bag with you, one year we had to buy 2 of them!!!! :earseek:
