How Many Soarin Locations Have you been to?

We just returned from our second trip to Disneyland following many, many trips to WDW. Seems really special to ride "Soarin over California" while actually in California.

But it got us to thinking about how many people have actually been to all of the locations in SOC? If not all, which ones have you been to and which locations are on your list of places to see?

We've been to Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Monterey Bay, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, Anza-Borrego and of course Disneyland.

I have been to all the ones you listed minus Anza-Borrego. Not too shabby for only being stationed here 2 years so far! Trying to see everything this beautiful state has to offer!

What I'm always curious about is how the WDW/Florida folks feel about seeing scenes from CA. Do they feel the pull to come or something?? I would say this state is amazing, with it's diversity and all. It could fit into any sort of adventurers vacation.

Been everywhere in Soarin' except Anza-Borrego and Camarillo. But I lived there for most of a decade + DH is a Cali native so we have friends and relatives scattered all over the state. Haven't seen those aerial views for most of those spots though! That's part of what makes Soarin' so special. Would love to be on a hang glider heading towards the castle ...

Yes, yes, yes!!! Soarin' took my breath away the first time I saw it and I came away with a big desire to visit California! Several years later, we are actually making the trip. I really, really wanted to fly into San Francisco and drive down to San Diego, but we decided to stick to Southern California for our first trip since we don't know how days of driving and multiple hotel stops would go over with our kids. We are visiting Sequoia Nat'l Park (2 nights), Disneyland (5 nights), and San Diego (5 nights). My hope is that the trip goes well and we are able to do a Northern California trip in a couple of years and drive down from San Francisco to DLR ... winding our way down the coast.

So, anyway, to answer the OP's question: None! I haven't seen any of the Soarin' sights in person ... yet!

Been to all the locations that Mary Jo listed except Camarillo and Anza-Borrego. Been through Fresno, but never stopped (why would I? )

Done all the activities except hot air ballooning. Used to be a rated Hang Glider pilot with my own rig, but that was before I crashed it into the ocean and almost drowned (oops!)

Ohh!!! Well I'm glad you're making a trip over here It's unique and you'll most likely see nothing like it afterwards. I'm partial to Northern California for many reasons, mostly because I think it has some of the more beautiful parts of the state. And I think you'll also be surprised (once you visit both NorCal and SoCal, of course) at how different the two parts of the states are. They're VERY different, but have their own advantages.

Driving from San Francisco to DLR is a fun drive. Taking the 101 all the way scares the out of me at some points, but it CANNOT get anymore beautiful!! And make sure to make a stop at Hearst Castle on your way down as well as Monterey. If you go inland a little more, I know there's a small town on the central coast that is modeled after a German/Dutch village. It's sooooo cool to take a small little side trip there for a couple of hours and have lunch. I can't remember the name, but I do remember how adorable it is!!

And here I am, blabbing on about CA!! I shall stop, as this is probably not the best place for travel advice

My aunt used to take us neices every year to either Monterey or Yosemite during the summer. Both are awesome! Wonderful childhood memories....

I've been to all the places as well except Anzo Borego. Not even sure I know exactly where that is but assume it is somewhere down in the desert area LOL.

And the trips you are talking about going up or down the coast, mom and I did that with the girls back in 06 and it was SO fun!!!

We went to Disneyland for a week and then drove up the coast all the way home. We stayed right on the beack in Oxnard at a beautiful hotel that looks like you are in Mexico and then went to Hearst Castle and Solvang, Monterey and the acquarium and of course tackling those treacherus winding drives around Big Sur! And we came in at SF and went to the Ghiradelli factory for some ice cream and down to the wharf. It was a perfect trip!! We live near Sacramento so it was a great time! I would like to do that trip again someday.

If you have the time I def recommend it. It is a great fun drive esp if you have the time to stop and enjoy the sights!

I think it is one of the best advertisements CA has.

We would have never thought to go to a place like Anza-Borrego if it had not been for SoC (Or Soarin in WDW even though there is one sign that has "Soarin over California").

We are from New York and have traveled to California many times. We do a lot of the usual tourist things but never would have went to a place like Anza-Borrego. Thankfully we looked into it. As we did we realized we had to go hiking there. We also had an outstanding meal in "downtown" Borrego Springs that was as good as any other meal we had on our last trip.

On our next trip we will be going back to San Francisco and then head up to Napa. That will check one place off of our SoC list.

I think Mary Jo is referencing Fresno for the orange groves. It looks more like Santa Paula to me.

I'll have to pay closer attention to the locations shown on the tv screen during the final leg of the queue to know for sure.

I didn't know about Fresno ( I thought the oranges could have been Irvine) but according to Wikipedia (which isn't always right) this is where you soar over

the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Redwood Creek in Humboldt County, Napa Valley, Monterey, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite National Park (including Yosemite Falls and Half Dome), the PGA West golf course in La Quinta (credited in the queue video presentation as Palm Springs), Camarillo, Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, Fresno, San Diego, Malibu, Los Angeles, and Disneyland itself during the Christmas season.

Born and raised in So. Cal. I've been to most of the places except for Anza-Borrego and Malibu (does the now closed Maliboomer count?) Funny thing is both of those are not far from where I live. Next time my DM and Dsis go to Anza Borrego I'll have to tag along so I can say I've been there too!

I'm from western PA, so I'm reeeeally far from CA. But, it's my favorite state! We have family in both northern (Petaluma- near San Fran) and southern CA (ANAHEIM!), and we normally go out to visit the socal relatives every other year. Cast member relative= free DLand visits.

I've been to San Francisco, Monterey, Lake Tahoe, Los Angeles, and of course Disneyland. I feel so ashamed because I have lived in California all my life. This makes me feel so boring! I would love to visit Napa Valley, Yosemite, and San Diego.
