My school district does not believe in snow days. They are a very rare occurance. We had an icestorm here and every district in about 4 counties called off, except us. I had like 5 kids in class that day.
Hope you don't have to tack on any days at the end of the year.
Too many! Today was originally a holiday. Then it was a make up day. We had 2 inches of snow last night and school was cancelled. We are suppose to get another storm Tuesday night.
We have had one snow day with one day tacked on at the end of the year (no built in make up days) and graduation delayed one week. Even our teachers don't understand why they don't build in snow days.

Only 2 inches of snow and they cancel schools? Wow! Here in Michigan, we have to have about 4 feet or so before they cancel the school! Even 4 feet, if they can clear the road and clear the parking lot of the school, it's open no matter how heavy it is snowing! Crazy huh?! 2 inches here is nothing, everything is WIDE OPEN!
We've had 1. They don't build in make up days, so we make them up at the end of the year. We're now scheduled to get out June 21, just because of that one day. We really haven't had much snow this year, compared to some years, but historically we get a lot of snow right about the end of feb vacation. So there's always the possiblility of more snow days. I believe last year we actually had one in the middle of April.
Zero. The kids get out of school the first week of June. For all you late June dismissals when do you start school? We start either two days before or the day after Labor Day.
3. We have 2 left before makeups. I hope we don't go over because school starts one week earlier than usual next year (and one week earlier than the kids) and summer would be even shorter.
