Sounds like the most likely theory for New Years Eve. It just....^#@##ses me offWith walking so prevalent for NYE, is it possible that the 12/31 rooms were already gone but the unavailability was just not viewable until 8am when the 12/31 check-in date became bookable?
IMO, it is possible that the system works that way, but I really don't think so due to the patterns I've seen elsewhere. With walking so prevalent for NYE, is it possible that the 12/31 rooms were already gone but the unavailability was just not viewable until 8am when the 12/31 check-in date became bookable?
How would that happen? CM’s don’t start booking until an hour later.I assume they are all taken by the CMs before anyone can get online to book.
If I am reading the chart correctly, there are only 30 standard view studios. All of them are lock offs, so you are competing with people who want a 2 bedroom also. Anybody who wants to stay all Christmas week already has the room booked before today. Add in that not many DVC members actually want to spend the extra points on a Lake view room. I am actually surprised that there was any availability this morning at 8am.
If you think that is bad, there are only 16 theme park view studios. All of them are lock offs also.

Since the RAT only shows us that at least 1 villas is available, it's more likely that someone got that last room at one nanosecond after the window opened. Unless someone here has an inside source to the programmers, we'll never know for sure.
I was just saying a few weeks ago that I never have a problem at 11 months for New Years Eve and this year I did![]()
I think he is on to something here.I assume they are all taken by the CMs before anyone can get online to book.
So at 5:30am today (Feb. 1st) I decided to see if anything opened at BWV for 12/31 since I was unable to snare a 2BR yesterday for a 12/31 check-in date. Lo and behold a 2BR PV was available for the 5 nights I wanted (12/31 - 1/5) so of course I grabbed it. What are the chances someone would cancel a studio for 12/31? But evidently at least one person did late last night or very early this morning and I'm not complaining. Of course I had wait listed both standard view and boardwalk view so those wouldn't have triggered anything for me, and I'm sure that studio would've been gone anyway by 8:01am today. Further proof that 'stalking' gets better results than wait listing.
