How many scrap books have you made?

I am on my first and am just getting the hang of it. However, it looks kinda boring (only 2 pages done so far).

How long or how many books did it take for you to get creative with all the patterned paper and embellishments?

Where do you get most of your ideas from?

Help!

Not to worry about those first pages/books! Everyone develops a style and that style evolves all the time too. My first few books look pretty lame compared to what I'm doing today. I think I tried to "do" what I "thought" scrapping was. Now I do what looks right to me.

Keep playing and you'll get the hang of it.

My first books are REAL BAD!
I am about 26 albums done now (including three small gift 8x8's) and sometimes I find some of my pages boring at the time -
but when I go back to them later that doesn't matter as long as the memory is there!

I cringe looking back at my first book. EEEK...I've been scrapping for 7 years now and my style has definately evolved and is still evolving. When I have spare time, I surf the net (twopeas, scrapjazz, etc.) to get ideas. I still subscribe to Creating Keepsakes magazine - definately have a lot of ideas and they have a great website, too.

Don't fret over those first pages! I've been scrappin for 9 years....I cringe when I look at those first few books! Heck, even my first trip to wdw that I scrapped is YUCK! I try to remember, the pictures are safe, the memories are written, and they are DONE ! You can see such a progression over the span of all of my books. I've completed 80+ albums in 9 years. Now before you freak...I was on bed rest with my son for 6 weeks, and with my youngest dd for 12 weeks...& that's ALL I did was scrap ! all day long! So I got probably 1/3 of that done while sitting in bed!!!! good luck & keep scrappin!

I have been scrapping for about 10 years now. The first pages will make you giggle when go back to look at them 10 years from now. "Your" style will evolve in good time.

I've been scrapping for about six years now and I feel that my style is still evolving. I have done about 20 albums so far. Even though I almost cringe every time I look at some of my earliest pages, it just shows me how far I have come!

Just got back from Michaels and bought lots of patterned paper and a scrapbooking for dummies book! I am looking forward to getting another page done tonight now!
Lots of ideas came to me as I was shopping!
