how many riders

Myself, dh, three ds's 10,11 and 12. Are going for our first family trip in april. I know it will be crazy easter week but we have 11 days so here's hoping. My question is this, are there many rides where more than two can sit together. my middle is very nervous of the rides but is determined he won't miss out. So either parent will sit with him or youngest leaving oldest riding alone. So we are trying to find which rides we can have more than two to a seat.

Pretty much all the rides at least two can sit together with the exception of Space Mountain where you sit single file. I was concered about that as well but my 6 and 8 year olds were fine on Space Mountain.....

Few can sit more than two to a seat. I would suggest swapping on the "easy" rides - let two older ones go together on Dumbo, etc. That way oldest is not always going by himself or with some other person. Being a family of five takes some juggling. That's one reason why we usually bring and extra person with us to our local amusement park.

POC, IASW, Peter Pan, Snow White, Winnie the pooh, BTMRR, Soarin, Journey into Imagination, Great Movie Ride, TOT, Jungle Crusie, Haunted mansion, Dinosaur, and the Safari. Those are some of the ones that I have sat at least 3 across on. I don't know how big your children are. My girls are 8 and 7. I know there are probably more.

The easier thing really is what rides can't you sit 3 across? Disney has way more things that are bench seats that 3 regular/small sized people can fit in than rides with dedicated double seats. Here are the ones that will be an issue that I can think of - most of the rest will be fine!

Space Mountain - single riders
Splash Mountain - maybe - I've seen 3 in a row but it's tight
Expedition Everest - 2 only
Rockin Rollercoaster - 2 only
Spaceship earth - it's iffy - there are 2 headrests, but if 3 really wanted to ride I think they could since I think the seat is a bench not individual seats
buzz lightyear - only 2 guns
Toy Story Mania - again only 2 shooters
Astro orbiters?

Splash Mountain - maybe - I've seen 3 in a row but it's tight

We've sat 3 to a seat - me, my DH and my DD6. It's not really that tight if you're smallish.

You can even fit 3 across on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, though it might not look like it!

Spaceship earth - it's iffy - there are 2 headrests, but if 3 really wanted to ride I think they could since I think the seat is a bench not individual seats
buzz lightyear - only 2 guns
Toy Story Mania - again only 2 shooters

These are rides we often sit 3 across. My DD loves to control the spin on Buzz Lightyear - she doesn't care if she doesn't get to shoot. Same with Toy Story Mania, though I think she'll want to play next time. And Spaceship earth is fine for 3, though there are only 2 screens, so only 2 of you will see your future at the end.

We rode Buzz and Toy Story Mania several times with 3 (DD is only 19 mos), and it was fine. I just let her shoot or we took turns. Everything else we rode with 3 was fine.

We are also a family of 5. We rode everything with 3 to a seat except Space Mountain, Expedition Everest, and RocknRollercoaster. Fortunately we only had one child who wanted to do these rides, so DH or I just alternated who went on them with her.
