The first year I registered on the Disney website I got a PIN code. I haven't gotten one since. I needed two sets of maps year before last for my scrapbook so I ordered some in my mom's name. Since then she's gotten a PIN code last year and now this year!!!! Has anyone else gotten a PIN after you've been to Disney numerous times? I know its supposed to be random, but it makes me wonder if they know they have us hooked :lmao: and since she hasn't booked a trip yet, they're trying to entice her to come? I just wish I could get another one!!

We've been registered with Disney for many years and been passholders for three years and have never gotten a single pin code....I think it is the luck of the draw.

Ditto. Seems totally random. We've had multiple-week trips the last 5 years and I've registered my and DH's email addys anywhere I can find with Disney. Nuthin.

We actually just started getting AP announcements via email and we've had them since August. :sad2:

DH and I have been married since '92 and although I have visited WDW many, many times since '72...I've only been keeping track of things since I've been married.

At that time, I was "registered" with Disney under my maiden name. Since our marriage, I've been "registered" under my married name (and that's the one we always use for booking). DH and I have been 8 times and this year was the first time I had a pin code in my married name. We have used other discounts (AP and package deals a couple of times), but this year was the 1st pin code I've gotten...so you better believe I used it!:thumbsup2

I still get postcard offers all the time in my maiden name (at least 1 per year), but they're usually not that great and they have never been at a time we could go (seems like I always received them immediately AFTER a trip:rotfl: ). I've always thought I received more offers in that name because it's the one that NEVER books, but I really believe it's just a random thing. I have only received a pin code in my maiden name once (about 2 yrs ago).

We've had our AP's for THREE YEARS and have both of our emails registered, and neither of us have ever gotten one single passholder email. Those seem to to random too ;) You are lucky to be getting them since you got your AP in August! :thumbsup2

21 WDW trips...14 of them since 2000.Never ever a pincode.I finally got one in the mail last week, and it came in the name of a friend of mine who once went to disney with me on my ressie...the kicker...she died in 2003.They won't allow me to use it either( it has to be in your name) How is that for funny?

I have never received a pin code email under my email address-and we use that every time we book a trip, but within the past year we have received 2 in my husband's email. Every CM I have spoken to has my email listed as our primary email address, but I never receive the pins (or the passholder emails), just DH. WEIRD!:confused3

Been 18 times in the last 8 years, never got anything until last week. Received 2, yes 2 different 40% off pin codes. Go figure.

I got my first pin code maybe 3 or 4 years ago but did not realize what it was then. I got a 30% code (snail mail) in Jan of 2008 and used it. I just recently got an AP 40% pin code (e-mail). I am using it for Dec. I have been an AP holder for less than a year.

I've been a passholder going on 4 years now, and never got anything; now I've had 2 pin codes in the past 3 months. It's completely random :sad2: Of course I get them bookending the holidays, when I can't afford to use them to stay someplace really expensive!!!

I "played the game" last year and got a 30% off code emailed to me through Disney Destinations. The "game" consisted of calling in for a quote and not booking. Calling back a few weeks later changing some of the terms to get a lower rate. Then ordered the planning DVD. Sure enough, within 2 weeks I got the code.

I just received a 40% off code postcard last week or so. It came under my maiden name. I haven't had that last name in 12+ years and have NEVER registered that name with Disney or taken a trip under my maiden name when I was an adult. :confused3

Moving to the Resorts & Booking / Codes & Rates board.

:)

We got our very first pin code last week after going on 5 trips. I was so excited, even though we can't go on the code dates, just getting one made me ecstatic!

Been a passholder since 1995. Been to WDW 60+ times now. Hubby has been a passholder since 2005 (CM for 8 years prior). We got the 40% code by calling last year and being told we had both a 30% and 40% code on his name. Got our first email code this month to passholder. We also got the passholder shopping deal in November. However, pin codes have come to our adult kids and grandkids several times. We are registered on the following and none really help: DVC accounts/both, Disney shopping/both, AP website/both, signed up for DVD planning, DH registered on HUB when he was a CM, DDE member. And I update our profiles regularly. There is no logic when it comes to who gets and who doesn't. It's all luck.

Only once have we gotten a code - in October 2006. We pulled together a trip in two weeks to use it! (*hint* Disney, if you send me one I WILL bring you more business!)

We average a trip about every 1 to 1 1/2 years - been going since 1993.

This is the second year in a row I've gotten the 40% off code. I've received other codes over the years, but honestly if I'm not looking to go, I don't pay as much attention to the offers.

We go every year for 10 days, buying an AP every other year. We have gotten a pin (or four) every year. Not always the 40% off, but some offer via pin. We usually can't take advantage, especially in year 2 of our APs since it has to be before the anniversary date.
