How many points to buy initial purchase AKV?? Buy add-ons at BCV?

We are looking into buying at AKV and are really struggling with how many points to purchase. We have 2 kids - ds5 and dd2. We will be going typically in late August for at least 1 week, more likely 10 to 14 days. I am thinking a studio will work for us. Is this realistic? DH thinks we need a 1-bdrm. With a value studio, we would need 148 points for the dates we want in '09.

We also really want to stay at BCV sometimes, maybe every other year, again late August/early Sept. I know we would need 216 points for the dates we want in '09. If we bought at AKV, would it be hard to get something at BCV for August 7 months out? Would it be better to buy add-ons at BCV?

It's actually pretty easy to figure out your point needs and it sounds like you've done so.

I would suggest that getting BCV seven months out is a bit of a risk. This is one of the smaller (less units) DVC locations and due to location it's a very popular location.
