I am so curious. We are almost buying in and I know everybody's DVC needs and wants are so different.

But I just wanted to get an idea of how many points people have etc...

So here is a poll of sorts....optional, of course.

1. How many points do you have total? (Please breakdown if you own at different resorts).
2. Which resort do you own?
3. What size room do you usually book?
4. How often do you go to WDW or other per year?
5. Do you plan to add on? If so, where and how much?
6. Would you make any changes if you could?

I'll be the first to respond -
We own 380 240 VB and 140 SSR (add-on in Nov 05)
We usually get a 1 bdrm - it is only DH and I, no munchkins
We usually make 2 trips a year, sometimes 3
Have never been to VB, but have stayed at SSR.
VWL is probably our favorite DVC, but there are things we enjoy about each. The only one we haven't stayed at on WDW property is BWV.

1. 500 pts (all at SSR)

3. Normally 1 bedroom. Have booked a two bedroom and will be staying in a studio this June. It's me, DH, and DS-10 and DD-7.
4. At first once...but after owning DVC at least twice. Looking to make it three now.
5. WOuld love to add on more - just got back and talked about doing it while we were there. Probably would add on through SSR and get 100-150 more. We anticipate having to get a 2-bd most of the time now a the kids get older and want to bring friends along.

7. SSR is fantastic. We love BWV though. YC and BC are beautiful. I guess we are very happy with SSR but we would like to stay in them all ....

300 BWV points. Started with 150 then just added another 150. BW is our favorite resort. We always will do a BR until the kids kids are grown, we really like the space. Would not change a thing...

500 - 300 OKW, 100 VWL and 100 BCV. We usually stay in one bedrooms unless we bring someone along. Then we get a two bedroom at OKW. We have three in our family. One son 12 yrs old.

My husband and I were talking today about when our son decides he doesn't want to go anymore. We'll still get the one bedroom because we like the king bed and the space.

We go at least twice a year. Summer and one school break.

We've stayed at OKW, VWL, BCV, BWV, SSR and VB. Haven't done HH yet; probably won't go back to BWV. Just too busy for us. We've done OKW the most - about 8 times. BCV 3x, VWL 1x, SSR 2x, BWV 1x, VB 1x. We also did one 4 night DCL.

Let's see...we have 200 points at SSR. We are planning to go to WDW every two years. We have to get a 2-bedroom because we have four kids. I had thought of adding on at BCV, but I'm intrigued by the rumor of a DVC at the Contemporary Resort, so I'm waiting to find out if that will really happen. I don't think I'd make any changes...we love WDW, but want to travel to pretty much everywhere. So 200 points is enough for us right now. I really like SSR but would love to try all the resorts at some point. To be honest, when we purchased DVC, I thought the idea was to stay wherever you wanted, but some people on these boards seem a little grumpy about owners staying at resorts other than their own home resorts. I mean, we honestly thought we were buying into the whole Vacation Club World and not just one specific resort. If we were wrong to think that way, I'll blame our guide!

Only have been a member for a few months, stayed at OKW for our first trip home.
We stay in a one or 2 BR according to how many go with us.
We will try most of the resorts-don't have a favorite-love them all.

Now onto the OPs questions:

1. How many points do you have total? 415 as off last week

2. Which resort do you own? all at SSR

3. What size room do you usually book? We have to get a 2 bedroom since we have 4 kiddos

4. How often do you go to WDW or other per year? we've gone once a year since we joined DVC (in '04). We started with 5 days, then added on so we stayed 7. Now we did another add-on and we're hoping for a 10 days stay.

5. Do you plan to add on? If so, where and how much? We haven't been DVC members for 2 years yet and we've added on two times already

6. Would you make any changes if you could? I would have bought more points to start out with

7. Is your home resort your favorite resort...if no, which one is? We've only stayed at SSR and we LOVE it!! We are hoping that sometime in the next 48 years we'll get to stay at the other resorts

3. What size room do you usually book? Grand Villa or 2 bedroom

4. How often do you go to WDW or other per year? WDW once a yeat plus 5 days at either HH or Vero

5. Do you plan to add on? If so, where and how much? If a monorail DVC resort is annouced we will probably add on 250 points if my wife does not kill me.

6. Would you make any changes if you could? No I just wished we bought earlier. Also I probably would have broken up our foisr 250 point contract into 3 smaller contracts.

7. Is your home resort your favorite resort...if no, which one is?
I have not been to any of our home resorts yet. We have only been to VWL. We will be going to HH and SSR this coming year.

Enjoy OKW, but wanted home resorts at VWL and BW as they are harder to get at Christmas time and F & W!

Joined in May of 2004 and usually go 2 to 3 times per year.

We get mostly studios..2 adults with 2 small children, but did enjoy a one-bedroom at OKW with 3 adults and 2 children. Will probably stay at OKW when getting the 1 BR because of point values and when we rent a car.

Love VWL at Christmas and Boardwalk during Flower show because of convenience!!

5. Possibly at VWL or a future resort -- probably sufficient for a one bedroom for five weeknights.
6. Bought two equal size OKW contracts rather than a single 300 point contract with a small add-on

We thought about that as well. We have a 29dd, married with kids, 22 ds, and 19dd! They still come..they do spring break when in college, come with us, come down at other times...they absolutely love it! I don't think there will ever be a time they don't want to come.

2. Which resort do you own? All our points are at OKW.

3. What size room do you usually book? If it's just me and DW we book a 1 bedroom. We reserve the villa size that affords the maximum comfort without regard to point cost. We've used the pullout sofa at OKW just once in 30 plus trips totaling more than 180 nights. My DW will be at OKW with her mom in a few weeks and they'll be staying in a 2 bedroom.

4. How often do you go to WDW or other per year? Average since we purchased in 1995 is a bit more than 3 times per year, but as many as 5 times.

5. Do you plan to add on? If so, where and how much? Yes. At OKW of course. Likely another 1325 points (our goal is 3000 points) hopefully within the next three years when we'll be retired.

6. Would you make any changes if you could? Yes. But too many to list here. I do admit though that we've been very happy with our DVC decisions.

7. Is your home resort your favorite resort? Yes. Without a doubt. But, we always look forward to staying at a new resort soon after it opens. I'm grateful others DVC owners have likes and opinions that differ from mine.

We own at OKW and BCV - have only stayed at OKW, BWV

We have stayed in a studio, 1 BDR and 2 BDR

We try to go at least once a year. Limited vacation time. We have cruised DCL 3 times - (when we skipped once or twice)

5. Do you plan to add on? If so, where and how much?

At this time because of tuitions and limited time we are good. Down the road, if we don't become snowbirds - perhaps a few more (less than 100)

6. Would you make any changes if you could?

I am sure there might be one or two things - like all rooms n/s - discount on all types of passes - but really nothing I feel strong about.

7. Is your home resort your favorite resort...if no, which one is?

I love OKW. We bought here first and stayed here first so I missed it when we stayed at the BWV. Hard to answer since I have not stayed in all of them but I am one who is happy as long as I am in WDW.

Oh, I love to talk about DVC!

1&2. 550 - 250BWV, 150VWL, 150VB

3. We have booked more studios than anything, but that's because we are primarily long weekend vacation takers. We have changed our long weekends to include Monday, not Friday, but still, the weekend points are awful. We have a June trip planned in a 1 bedroom OKW, and for the VWL trip mentioned below we have booked 1 2 bedroom and 2 studios. We very often bring family members.

4. Even before DVC we found ourselves wanting to go to WDW for the Flower Show, for MNSSHP/F&W, and in December. So, those 3 are "given" and sometimes we're taking extra trips, this year it's 6 visits.

5. We are approaching retirement, and with the maintenance/dues increase this past year, I am concerned that more points would be a luxury we couldn't afford.

6. I would like to see the weekend points more in line with the others, non-smoking guaranteed (if bygoing non-smoking throughout, that's fine), and pool hopping to SAB! I don't own or often go to OKW, but I like it, I just can't deal with steps. It is hard for me to think of a reason why a whole resort was built with mostly no elevators in buildings. Many budget hotels even have elevators. I know one of the resorts, maybe Dixie Landings had some accomodations without elevators, and that was the reason we never stayed there.

Lots of people have lots of points.........
We just bought 310 pts at BWV......we like the location but have never stayed there yet, nor have we even been inside the building.
We prefer a 1 bedroom, thats what I based our purchase on - a 1 bedroom during xmas or April vacation at the BWV.
So we haven't stayed at any of the DVC resorts yet....booked VWL 1 bedroom last night for a March 9 - 15 stay, talk about last minute. We are also going in November and staying at home, BWV.
We are really looking forward to this....so are our little ones. We told them last night we were going to see the Princesses, there still in shock.
From what I read here it seems whatever you end up purchasing in the beginning it won't be enough, thats what scares me. Once my DW sees the value in owning we may be adding.....but for me 310 pts is enough for now.

5. DH won't let me add on unless we get a DVC on a monorail or at Animal Kingdom Lodge.
6. Make the cruise use less points.
7. My favorite is SSR. DH's favorite is OKW. We both loved BWV. We haven't stayed at the others yet.

4. Just once a year. My job and school schedules make it very difficult to go more often.
5. When our boys get older we may add on another 100 points so we can stay in a 2 bedroom
6. I'm pretty happy the way it is. Better sleeper sofa and TV upgrade would be nice.
