How many points do I need?

newbie here

How many "points" do i need to buy to rent a villa (1 bedroom, ie: boardwalk etc) for a week? Can you do a meal plan with them?

Sorry if this sounds dumb, but like I said I'm a newbie. Do you redeem them on the disney site? or with a travel agent?

If you look up at the top at the FAQ thread there is a point calculator. Put in when and where you want to stay and it will tell you how many points you need. The only way to rent points is through a DVC owner. Once you figure out how many points you need then you can look for threads with people offering points to rent. You can also post that you are looking for points for a certain resort/time. Yes the dining plan can be added.
