How many point transfers per UY

Sorry if this has already been answered, but the search function wasnt working.

How many point transfers are allowed in a UY? I seem to be getting conflicting info. MS says only one transfer is allowed, however I've read in a couple places that you are allowed as many as you want, just so long as they are all the same direction. IE, all outbound transfers or all inbound, so that people dont circumvent the 11 mo window. Which is it? Usually I would just go with what MS says, but I know there are some "rules" that arent really enforced.

Also, I recently transferred some points to another member, but have some left that I may rent or transfer to my brother. I am a DEC 07 UY currently. If you are only allowed one transfer, am I then able to transfer points from my 08 UY, so long as I transfer to someone else with an 08 UY also? Or do I have to wait till I am "In" that UY to transfer again. If so then I'll just bank my current points, and then transfer from my 08 UY I guess, but the deadline is tomorrow!

It's one transfer in or one transfer out per year.

So can I transfer points from my 08 UY since I have a DEC 07 UY, or can you only transfer from the UY you are currently in???

You are allowed one transfer per use year, either out or in but not both. You can currently transfer points from either your Dec 07 year or Dec 08. If you have already transfered some Dec 07 points, you cannot trasfer from that year again but can still transfer Dec 08 points. You cannot bank your Dec 07 points into your Dec 08 use year and then transfer those banked points because banked points cannot be transfered.

You can agree with another to set up a vacation in their name with you using your own points to make the reservation. Many do that when they rent. That is not a "transfer" of points subject to the one-time rule.

The reason you have seen some mention of being able to make unlimited transfers per year, either in or out but not both, is because that used to be the rule but was changed last year.
