Just wondering how many poeple have used DVC for stays at DL and is it worth the use of points? I have never been to DL but would like to go some time in the future.

:confused3

We did, stayed at the Disney land resort and Loved it! Personally, I like DL better the WDW. Loved the quaintness of it. Room was nice, hotel was nice. I don't read into the points too much. I feel that they are mine and I will enjoy them.

I do not recall them being ridiculous (18 or so per night). We did 4 days there and took the jumper plane to Las Vegas for 3 nights....had an awesome time. Would do again except we are now a family of 3 (just adopted a 6 and 4 year old :grouphug: and they are not up to the plane ride (5 hours) !

So, too answer your question, I do not regret the decision.

We have and had a great experience. The points required were not outrageous, and you don't pay the $95 booking fee, too! (Though most likely they'll put that into effect once the villas the Grand Californian come online for reservations.

We've used our points for DLR more than we have for WDW. I don't think the points are outrageous and it is simply much easier and less expensive for us to get to DLR. I wouldn't buy DVC only to use at DLR, though, until we see what the VGC points chart looks like because IMHO DVC still really makes sense only if you go to WDW to a deluxe resort at least every other year.

We did! It was totally worth it, would do it again in a heartbeat. 126 points for 3 nights (Th,Fr,Sa) at GCH. Would have cost over $1800 cash.

We just booked a 4 night stay at GCH for March 09 :cool1:

We went in March 07 for the first time and we absolutely loved it!!! It is so worth it, IMO.

We used points at DLH this past July. Had a blast. It was 96 points for 4 nights. I didn't think that the points were necessarily outrageous.

We enjoyed 3 nights last Memorial Day weekend (Fr/Sa/Su) at the Grand Californian Hotel. It was a lovely stay and well worth the 102 points.

I can't wait to see the point charts for the GC Villas ... and how they stack up to my other timeshare in the nearby area.

I just booked 2 rooms at the DL Hotel over MLK weekend this January. It was 124 points for 1 rm for 3 nts and the second for 2 nts.

I checked the prices on the Disneyland website, and the cash price would've been over $1200!

So yes, definitely worth it!

We used points at both the Disneyland Hotel and Paradise Pier last month. It was great! Disneyland is SO very different from WDW that it's like seeing old favorites for the first time.

While the points were a bit high, I didn't think they were outrageously so, compared to the non-DVC WDW resorts. We'd do it again in a heartbeat.

We're thinking of "splurging" and using our Developer Points next summer 4 weekday nights at GC.....Only will be borrowing 40 from current use yr for 2 rooms..We have 2 adult DS and want to splurge using our Dev Points.

For 2 rooms AAA rate summer 09 same nights, 2 standard rooms at GC with tax is a little over $3500...I figured it out..it is $14.68 per point..Since I could only probably get $10 or $11 for Developer Points to rent them at SSR, I figured we would take our first trip to California and use them at GC!!
Many have warned though..Once you stay at GC, you will be spoiled!

I think it is a good use of Developer Points!! I'm getting excited planning!:goodvibes :goodvibes

Have only been to DL once this past May, since CA is a 12 hour flight for us, opposed to 9 hours to FL. :upsidedow

Although we paid cash for our 5 nights at DLH this year, I would definately use points on our next trip to DL - and maybe try out the GCH. ;)

We use our points quite often for DLR hotels (GC, DH & PP), it's typically cheaper than AP rates and the resort fee is included in your points.

OOOHHH, This is like one of those guess how many beens in the jar contests.:goodvibes

My guess is ....... 76,427 people have used points to book at Disney Land.

I will further that by says, they all thought it was a good use of their points, at least at the time of booking, except for one guy who thought he always wastes points (what can you do :confused3 ).

Sorry if this was not supposed to be a guessing game.:flower3:

I have used points for both GCH and DH. Of course the points don't go as far as using them at a DVC resort but it's not a bad deal. Especially when they upgrade you from a standard room. :wizard:

I've used them at the DGC, it was great. When you stay at this hotel you can get into the park before hours and do a power walk with a castmember. It was worth my points just to do that. LOL Oh and you get into the park 1/2 hour before though a private entrance and can ride soaring. We had Front Row. What an amazing trip! :lovestruc

Actually, guests entering through the front gates get this privilege as well. The gates open 30 minutes before park opening time but only the Sunshine Plaza area and Soarin' are open. Many choose to line up for Toy Story Mania right away so they won't have as long to wait once the park opens but lots head right to Soarin'.

We were upgraded to a suite at the Paradise Pier hotel last month. We stayed 4 nights at the DLH and our last night at PP. What a thrill to find out we had been given a suite when we had only reserved a standard view room! Now I'm sure this doesn't happen often, and that a factor in our luck was the fact that we were only staying there one night, but it was still great!
