How many pictures do you take?

I too am a photography freak. I think I take more photos now then I did when we first started going. Last time I came home with about 6k photos for a 10 day trip. However I don't carry my big camera around all the time anymore. I take a lot with my phone or point and shoot now.

OK, I am really, really looking bad here. I used to be a photography freak and I used to drag around a DSLR and a point and shoot and a bag dull of extra memory cards.

And, I used to be the one who like getting the artsy shots and the detail shots.

I know that I am going to regret not having a ton of photos of my kids in Disney at different ages. But, I end up being to forgetful?, lazy?, distracted? to pull out my camera. It just seems like we go to Disney so often that I already have "that picture". We usually end up in Disney at least four times a year.

OK, I am going to vow to take pictures next time. I need some shots of my kids enjoying the park at ages 7 & 9.

I refuse to answer on the grounds that it would definitely incriminate me. :cool2:

Some people are picture people, some aren't. I scrapbook and love having lots of photos to scrap when we get home. It helps me live the trip all over again.

You should check out some of the many photo threads around the DIS. There are some amazing photographers taking amazing photos around the parks.

True dat! LOL

And yes, I still take several hundred pictures every time I go.

:thumbsup2

The parks don't change that much over time. But your kids do. :)

I'm actually planning to do an entire scrapbook of our character fun through the years. I couldn't do that if I had started leaving the camera home.

Yes!! I saw a scrapbook that someone did of all their Disney trips over the years as their kids grew up. It was so nice and fun seeing the kids grow up through the book.

I scrap each trip. But that overview is the one I can't wait to do. I think I can start the character one soon since we're about done with the costume fun we've had.

I could have written this myself! I also scrapbook and in addition to the thousands of vacation/family/park etc photos I take, I also take some "What the heck is that?" type of photos very specifically for making scrapbook embellishments, backgrounds etc. Some people shop on vacation for souvenirs; my photos ARE my memories, my souvenirs and my supplies for my hobbies to last the year between trips. :)

I take a lot, but mostly only of my loved ones having experiences and reference photos. I, too, scrapbook, but I wind up never being in any pictures because it never occurs to my husband to take any. That's what I love about PhotoPass/Memory Maker - I get to be in pictures! Our last four-day at DLR, our PhotoPass CD had 307 pictures (during a low-crowd time when there weren't that many PP photographers out and about), plus a similar number on my camera (point and shoot - I'm a decent taker of pictures, but not a pro). To a certain extent, though, I've noticed that obsessive picture-taking takes away from the experiencing. So I'm going to take fewer this trip. Enough for a scrapbook, but not so many that I worry more about the pictures and video than about what I'm looking at. I saw the whole of World of Color through a video camera screen, and have never watched the resulting footage. I'm not doing something like that again. I want to experience my experiences, not merely record them.
