... during a fortnight in WDW?

On my previous trips I taken 5 rolls of APS film and got 200 photos. Since "going digital" I've become a little snap-happy.

DH has bought 2 x 8GB cards for my new camera (the documentation suggests this will give me about 5000 pictures.) Will this be enough?

Let me know how many you take to give me a rough idea of what's "normal".

I took about 5000 when we went for 17 nights in December but we enjoy taking lots of photos so that is lots more than the average person.

It will depend on what quality/size of photo your camera takes as to how many pics will fit on an 8gb card. Do you know what size pics (mb) it takes?

It's a 12.1 mega pixel. Once I put the card in I got 2503 on the display. Obviously I can increase this if I lower the resolution - but I'll take them as detailed as I can in case I want to crop them later.

last time we went we got two of our memory sticks copied to disc so we could take more pics with them .

Hi Libby
I normally take thousands of shots but if you have a large enough screen you should be able to delete some of the duff ones as you go along.

I ended up with about 1500 on the last trip and I was looking for photo comp and monthly competition shots so had more than I'd need for Theresa to sort through to scrapbook.

Definantly a good idea to take them on the largest M setting to allow for cropping and you not having to zoom right in,it's so annoying when I cut someones head off. :rolleyes1

Well, in 4 days at Disneyland Paris we took 1200, and there's only 2 parks there!!!

Needless to say I will be taking my laptop with me and downloading the photos each day!

just got back form 20 days and took 1,500 on the DSLR and a oucple hundren on the point n' shoot. Previous trip also worked out about 500 per week but these are Jpegs, if shooting raw I would need way more memory (only took 3 x 2GB cards)

I tend to take small cards rather than large, purely from the perspective of if I lose one or it gets corrupted I don't lose too many of my images

I took around 1200 pictures on our two week trip last April. That was simply on a 'point and shoot' camera. I took one 8 megapixel and one 4 megapixel card with me and swapped them around every couple of days in case one went missing by accident, hence not loosing as many pictures.

This last trip was least I have ever taken. only 563 in 9 nights. It can over a1000 a week, Just looked at last Easter 2 weeks that was 2500.

Put them on laptop every evening.
Now have over 25,000 pics since going digi.

Oh my and I thought I took a lot of photos! :lmao: I usually take about 400 :goodvibes

I took 14000 in 14 days last time we visited :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

We did see the shuttle launch and both camera's were hitting the buffers then!

I take loads of pictures and usually average about 100 pictures a day.

Claire ;)

About 5000 between us, don't actually keep them all though: Some are the same shot (we have a DSLR so sometimes use the 'many shots in quick succession' -yes that is the technical term *lol*- feature) so just pick the best one, some are blurred/out of focus/just plain rubbish etc! Most people in 'real life' are blown away if we tell them how many photos we take, though from what I can tell many people online take way more so I honestly don't know what's a normal amount! :upsidedow

tend to take about 3,500 since going digital.

I don't know how I ever manged with a roll of film with 36 shot on each roll :lmao:and the long wait to get them developed before you could see if you had capture what you wanted - not to mention the cost

Mine usually average between 100-150 per day.

Well it looks like there isn't a normal amount. I'm pretty sure I'll have enough memory but I can always get them put onto CD if I run out.

Is there anywhere particularly reliable for getting pitures onto CD or more specifically anywhere we should avoid?

Since going digital I take a lot, maybe an average of 200-300 a day!! I always take my laptop when we travel and I delete pictures as I go along and download my pictures every night. I always take a few CD's with me too, then every 3 or 4 days I burn my pictures to CD as a back up.
