How many photos do you take? Memory ?

And I thought *I* took a lot of pictures!! Wow! I have an 8 megapixel Nikon with a 1 gig card and we bought another 1 gig card and a spare battery and I thought I was really prepared! Yikes! Now I am panicky thinking I need more ... ! we will be there for 6 days. I do plan to delete extras at night, etc, but do you guys think this is enough. This is our first trip.

I think I would keep an eye out for any deals on cards before you go. Do you really want to delete any photos of your kids even if they aren't perfect? How many 8mp photos on a 1 gig card? I figure I can get about 300 7mp photos per gig. So you would probably get about 250 - 275 per gig. Do you normally take lots of photos? 500 photos would be plenty for a lot of folks. I bought my SIL a camera for a trip to Scotland and she only took about 75 photos. I definately would have taken hundreds.

I honestly do. To me, a bad pic is a bad pic. For a model headshots usually I take about 50 shots and 40 of them will be useable, about 10 of them will be promote-able.

For my 20-day trips I usually take about 300 shots and 200 of them are printable.

Not saying that I'm good or anything, but I'm 'old school'. I think then press the shutter instead of the other way round and hope for the best. For some people it's all about the ppictures. For me it's about the process of taking pictures. Different strokes for different folks. There's no right or wrong.

our first trip to disney i remember my hubby saying he took 1600 pics..i couldnt believe it..but sure enough he did...he always takes tons and tons..everytime i turn around he is stopped shooting something..

I still shoot as though I'm shooting film; I think about the shot a little before I click. Even so, I've become a little more liberal in my shooting since I went to digital and don't have to worry about paying for processing and printing costs.

I find time by not sleeping...LOL, I spend hours each night going thru my pics, dumping some, editing some, and just playing with others creating alternate reality shots..

I'm with you! That's why I was still up at 2:30am today, after beinga t MK last night! Have to do the pics as soon as I come home!

Even on Friday when DD and I were at MK for about 4 hours I took close to 200 pics I took a bunch last night too, but many of those were dumped! I've had my Canon 5 months now, and I have taken close to 7,000 photos (not that they were all keepers - I am still experimenting and learning - so I take things just to see what will happen so I know for the next time!)

It's funny for the three weeks we had not been at Disney I had SOOOO much more time. I wasn't always playing with my photos (and I haven't gotten too much into editing or other creativity!). I did start to re-arrange my Photobucket folders though!!!

I carry four two-gig SD cards. So, I have 8gig total. They have a 15mb write speed and can keep up with anything I snap away at (or if I go to movie mode they'll run at 30 frames without a problem).

When you have uncooperative children running at the sight of your camera, you snap twice at every chance
