How many pets?

I would have posted but I thought it was about current pets too.

If that's the case, then I have 6 cats, 2 hamsters, 4 mice, a few dozen goldfish, a turtle but they're all dead. LOL

Pets die sometimes, it's what they do. So sad when they do that.

Personally, I like the live pets better though. They're much more fun. :p

No mice, fish or turtle names.

I'm pretty sure this thread is about current pets. I think Aahmom just wanted to call attention to the fact that I had a cat put to sleep. Yes, I am quite sure she doesnt really believe I am the only person who has ever put a 15+ year old cat with medical problems to sleep, but I think she believes it is a sensitive subject to me and likes to jump at any chance to bring it up. Very thoughful of her in a way. Unfortuately I had to do it twice, which is two times more than I would have liked but unfortunately pet's dont live forever. The other cat was only 10 but had a heart attack and congestive heart failure and was literally drowning in the fluid in her lungs, she couldn't walk, couldn't eat or drink, so yes, I twice took the advice of my Vet and twice had a family pet put to sleep.

But then I think it was aazmom (or one of her gag) that also compared my having my cat put to sleep with having my father "put to sleep" just a few short months prior to this happening. He was terminally ill and had signed a DNR. I think the implication at the time was that since I put my Dad to sleep, why would I ever think twice about putting my cat to sleep. I still miss my cats, and I still miss my Dad, didn't really need the reminder so I see no need to offer any thanks for bringing up all those wonderful memories....

My first post in almost a month and it took all of 20 minutes to make sure the feelings she brought up were less than welcoming. But I'm pretty sure that's the idea.

Me, I prefer remembering happier times and trying to help others or maybe once and awhile make someone smile. I usually do it elsewhere where I don't have... well, whatever...

back to the CURRENT pet's topic.

Our anole is named either "BOB" (my name for him) or "Shredder" my son's name, it's been a debate since we got him many months ago. We don't name the crickets.

You got all of that from 'I thought you had a cat?' You really should consider getting yourself a TV show with all of your psychic abilities.

I would NEVER compare somebody's Father dying to a cat, how sick.

eight dogs...all Airedales.
Nina-14
George and Gracie- 11
Agnes-8
Wendy-7
Beans and Viva-4
Duffy-2

We have two cats, Rusty (age 4.5) & Charlie (age 12)
We also have one goldfish, named Bruce. DS named him after the shark on Finding Nemo! :p

If I could I would have a huge land & have as many cats & dogs as I could. I love animals, maybe one day my dream will come true

2 cats - Sam is an orange tabby, and is 3 y.o.

Sherman is all black and is also 3 y.o.

When we move, I want to get a dog - a very tiny dog. I don't like big dogs - they shed like crazy, etc. And, DH said if I let him get a dog, I can get another kitten :)

Five cats here: Frankie (11) Baby (9), Jack (1), Rusty (4 months) & Mikey (2 months)

Two Dogs: Countess (5) & Comet (4) - both retired Greyhounds

Have a great day!!!

:D :D

Aren't greyhounds the absolute best? My beloved boy died last November from osteosarcoma. I still miss him terribly. Maybe someday I'll be ready to adopt another.

But I still have my cats and my 4.5 foot iguana to keep me company. :D

1 dog, a black Cocker Spaniel
1 Hermit Crab

2 dogs:

Webber (named after my favorite Basketball player, Chris Webber), a 7 year old Basset Hound.

Fredo (as in Corleone, my husband's grandmother was full Italian & he seems to think he is too & someone in our family was going to be named after a character in The Godfather & I decided better a dog than a child), a 5 year old Rottweiler.

1 cat: Lou (my husband rescued him before we met & didn't know whether he was a male or female, so he chose a name that could go either way), at least 9 years old.

I have a cousin who helps rescue greyhounds after they've retired from the track. Those dogs are sweethearts.:teeth: I'd love one, but it wouldn't like my small apartment.

Sorry about your greyhound, though. I had to put my 12-year-old Persian to sleep 4 years ago this month. He was losing weight and wasting away for months and suddenly one day he had seizures. The vet thought he probably had cancer. It's hard.

I do have one pet cat named Tucha. We adopted her from a local no-kill shelter July 26. She is adorable and sweet and spoiled ROTTEN. We love her a lot. It is so cute the way my husband treats her, too. He's nuts about her.:p She's just the nicest little furball.

Eventually we'll get a second kitty for Tucha to play with while we're at work.

We have numerous tropical fish (no names), and our kids somehow adopted an ugly rat (they call it Gigi--is there some cartoon character by that name)?

We have 10 dogs, 6 cats, 2 bunnies, a guinee pig, a parrot, and 4 betta fish. I think our pet food bills are almost as much as ours...lol. But so much love at our house. There is nothing better than coming home from a tough day (or any day for that matter) and having all these anxious dogs excited that you are home and ready to love you.
