i know people and websites etc say that parks are the least crowded in early december.we are planning on the week after thanksgiving...but how many people is least crowded? 30,000?

we were at MK in june of 2003 ant it was horrible....lines for everything...long lines...that was our first trip so the only thing i have to compare it too it six flags great america( Illinois)

when it is " less crowded" what does that mean?
do the parks seem empty or am i getting the wrong impression?

thanks

We went the first week of February and it definitely was "less crowded." I woudn't even have a guess as to the number of people, but with the exception of Test Track we didn't really encounter any lines longer than 20 minutes and never waited in any of those anyway as we rode everything in the mornings with no lines. For example, we went to MK on our first full day, were there for the 9am opening and this is what we did:

Dumbo x2
Pooh
Peter Pan
Snow White
Carrousel
Small World
Haunted Mansion
BTMRR x2
Pirates
met Peter Pan, Hook and Mr. Smee
Tiki Room
had Dole Whips

We did all that with three kids (one in a stroller) between opening and around 11:30 when we left to take a swim break at the resort. EVERY ride was a WALK-ON. (We didn't get to do Splash that day as it didn't open until noon, though we caught it later in the trip using fastpass).

To me means you can get on major attractions with short waits of 15 minutes or less. That you can drop in on many sit down dining venue's without PS and be seated in 10 minutes or less. That 90% of the time Disney transport you can ride without standing. Most time's you can go to Dinner Show(HDDR/LUAU) with a same day PS.You can get a good viewing spot for parade's 20 to 30 minutes before parade or Illuminations instead of hour or hour and a half. That is what least crowded mean's to me.If you arrive early during these times for a few hours you will feel like, hey are we the only people here today.PLus when you go to a show like Bug's Life and others you will hear CM'S say please move 2/3's of the way across before you sit down. The rest of the time it is move all the way to end of row you have chosen before sitting down.

wow, danny1649...you just described our trip, lol! :teeth:

Years ago they used to publish seasonal daily crowd sizes at MK. First two weeks of December (although it is getting more crowded now), September, much of January and early February had about 25-30,000 daily entries to MK. October, November (except Thanksgiving week) 35-40,000. Last two weeks of June and most of summer 60-65,000. July 4 and days around it 80,000. Thanksgiving week and Spring break weeks, other than the two Easter weeks, 50- 55,000, Easter weeks and Christmas 90,000 to 100,000. That doesn't count how many are actually in the park at any given time of day but just how many enter.

I think slow days are based on approx 15,000 in MK. That's a number I remember from Birnbaum from way back. Perhaps it's never that light any more? These would be January or September, and November-December during non holiday periods.:earsboy:

You may expect every day except Saturday to be below 30,000. Saturday is the day the locals will be there. Historically the first two weeks of December are th slowest two weeks of the year. January is the slowest month follwed by October.
