How many people are switching their dates?

We have a ressie at the Poly in April and though we don't technically "need" the 4/3 deal to stay there it sure would of been nice! Now, I'm thinking about switching the dates to March because that is our kids Spring Break, we have been promising them their Birthday at WDW for 3 years now so unsure.

I am so bummed it didn't run until April. How many of you are thinking about switching your dates or just gonna stick it out? :confused3

We are normally spring travelers but decided a couple of months ago to switch it up to January to take advantage of the value season rates and lack of weekend upcharges at the deluxes. This deal was the icing on the cake for us and is allowing us to do 8 nights at GF (w/o the deal we would've done a split stay). We're paying just about the same for 8 nights at GF next year as we did for 8 nights at Poly (regular season) this year, inspite of the rate increases and GF being a little more expensive than Poly for a standard room. Works for us!

We're booked for April too and after crunching the numbers this morning, we've decided to stick it out and wait for something for April. I really hope we can at least get some AP discounts or something. 4/3 would be nice, but I'm a little concerned because I think that the original 4/3 announced in late 07 was for Jan - May 08. Why not this year? Perhaps they are going to try something different for spring.

As a side commentary: wouldn't it be nice if they just lowered some of the room rates just a teeny bit, and do away with the big giant discounts and promotions year-round? Believe me, I understand the underlying concept of big discounts (I work in the auto industry), but it just addicts your consumer to discounts and trains them to wait for them instead of a normal sales cycle. No wonder their bookings were down. If it wasn't for agencies like DU, MJ, and Small World Vacations, who will watch for the discounts for you, I bet they would have even less bookings in advance. I'm not saying, cut the room rates in half right now, but did they have to INCREASE room rates, and then implement special promotions to make it affordable? I mean, I get why they do it, but it is annoying.
