How Many Own at Both BWV and BLT?

I've been noticing a lot of folks with multiple icons in their signatures for where they own. Every time I see someone with the same resorts as us, I think, "Hey, we have the same taste!" So, I'm curious... how many of us were drawn enough to BLT and BWV to purchase both?

We bought BLT first, basically because that was what was offered by Disney when we were ready to buy our first contract. We love the idea of taking our (eventual) grandchildren for stays so close to MK.

We bought a resale contract for BWV because that's our favorite resort for hubby/wife trips for F&W and F&G festivals. We have stayed many, many times in the past via a friend's DVC membership, including a large family gathering. We love BWV and actually had asked about it while we were in our initial sales meeting with our Disney guide. Luckily, we held off purchasing it at the same time as BLT and ended up with a much more attractive resale rather than purchasing directly through Disney.

So, who else has both...? And, how did you decide those were the home resorts you wanted?

well brought bwv first - back in the 90's. then it was the only epcot resort dvc.

kept it even after bcv open - because of standard views. cheap person... also love AKV value views and that will probably be my next buy.

when BLT finally opened - brought it as soon as sold OKW.

love BLT - wanted a monrail DVC for 16 years and sure was not going to let it go.

BWV is nice - have you seem it for Xmas (Dec) it is so cute!

What a coincidence! Our story is much the same as the OP. We purchased BLT first because of its proximity to MK. Our first grandchild (and hopefully not the last) is due in a month and it is our dream to take her there annually, if not more often. We have always loved staying at BWV during F&W and purchased a contract there as well.

Bought BWV first for the location. Once BLT went for sale, bought there too for the location.:goodvibes

Right now I only have BLT. I'll be staying at BWV this July for the first time, so I'll see if I like it. But I'm thinking that I will one day join you guys. The reason I'm staying there this summer is to scout it out for a future purchase.

I own at both, but I own at the other 8 as well. The only choice was whatever was being sold at the time I was ready to add-on.

We bought a resale at BWV (which was actually someone else's add-on that they were selling in order to buy at BLT while keeping most of their BWVpts.) with the intention of buying BLT as soon as it came on the market.

I don't know how you other guys do it, owning more than 2 home resorts. Every tip I book I tell myself we're gonna stay at only one this trip, but I never can decide which one so when end up doing another split stay. We love them both so much I can't imagine going to Disney & not staying at both.

we own at both too! much like op except still have kids with us, but hope to share with theirs one day. we always did split stays in bc or bw and then gf or cr, so when we could buy on the monorail it was a no-brainer. bought a resale within days of taking the plunge on bwv. we still stay at others at times, but we have never second guessed ourselves on our choices and LOVE our dvc! :yay:

:)DH and I own at OKW and BWV but we are BLT WANNABEES!!!! DH was ready to sell OKW contract to a couple he was golfing with while we were staying at BLT until our grown (in their 20's) kids had a fit.....they love OKW as do we but obviously DK's haven't experienced BLT!

BWV since 98-luv,luv,luv!!!! --525pts.
The location, transportation, ameneties, themeing, walking distance to both parks the best on property!!!
BLT 200pts--luv the walk to MK, the quick service dinning decor -clean lines something my home is not-now I know how the rich city-gays live!!!
extended contract is why we bought-don't know why I'll be sooooo old if not dead.
Not fond of the monorail service in which is by no means easy to get to the parks--tooo many strollers, transfering monorails annoying

We own at both but would probably sell BLT and just own BWV if we could do it without paying fees. We've owned BWV since 1999, and bought BLT the day it went on sale. Stayed there MK view for the first time in Dec. Now, it was a disappointing trip from the start, because our son and his family (2 grandchildren) were supposed to join us, but son lost his job in Oct. So we took my mom instead, she's our backup plan lol. Plus it was my 3rd visit last year. So maybe we weren't at our best to evaluate BLT.

The room was very nice, and the extra bathroom was marvelous. But we hated the sliding door in the hall bathroom, because you really could see through the gap if you tried. And the counters in all the baths were too tall for us-we're short.

The monorail was nice, the walk from MK is okay, view wasn't marvelous, we were on the 4th floor. Pool was kind of bland, we just didn't love it. We love the BW and everything about it. Different strokes for different folks. We'll probably keep BLT for when we need an extra bath.

I own at both. The majority of my points are at BWV with enough points at BLT to stay there every three years with banking and borrowing.

BLT has become our least favorite resort.

We don't really care for the theming and the quality of the furnishings is a issue. The relationship between DVC and the Contemporary Staff is also a issue. We have had problems with Mousekeeping, Front Desk, and Bell Services. It's almost like BLT is on auto pilot and you need to bug the folks at the Contemporary if you need something. Hopefully things will improve with time.

The location is a real plus but the view categories are still not accurate or fair.

I must admit that the decor at BLT does absolutely nothing for me... but the location is great and the furnishings are definitely my daughter's style. So, for family trips, she and her family will be happy there. BWV is much more the style of my hubby and me. All in all, I think BLT will serve us well over the years, especially when grandchildren are young, simply because of its proximity to MK. I can remember how great it was to just ride the boat over from Ft. Wilderness when our kids were young, and how much fun the Electric Light Parade and boats were. Being on the lake just brings back lots of wonderful memories.

Add us in! we bought a resale at BWV 2 years ago-310 points. This Christmas we added on BLT for 180 points. We absolutely love both resorts!

We started at BCV. We had travelled with my BIL several times to OKW and back then, they allowed pool hopping to BC. I knew that when they built there, we were in. I got addonitis almost immediately and bought a BWV resale because of the value of the std view rooms. When BLT was speculated about here on the boards, I knew we had to have it, just like BCV. (It would have made things a bit easier financially if it hadn't come out at the same time as VGC, but oh well.) My first trip as a kid was in 1972, before space mountain or Epcot were built, and we stayed at the Contemporary. I still remember being amazed by the monorail coming through the building. That resort has had sentimental meaning ever since. Looking forward to our first trip there in less than 3 weeks!
