How Many Outfits/Day Do You Pack??

I'll be going "home" to WDW in June :cool1: I've been before in September, April, and February but never June. That being said, I know what I'm in for as far as Orlando temperatures in June -avg. high of 91°F, avg. low of 74°F, mean temp of 82°F, and avg. 72% humidity :beach:. I know it's going to be hot, sticky and humid. I'm wondering how many outfits per day you pack for yourselves while in WDW, specifically in the summer heat?

I'm a minimalist. I don't go to the parks but plenty of trips in hot weather involving hiking, etc.

I would usually expect bottoms (pants, shorts, skirts) to go 3 days, shirts one. If very hot, cut bottoms to 2 days. If I'm cleaning up to go out to dinner, I wear that night what I plan to wear the next day. As long as I don't spill food, it doesn't get dirty/sweaty/hot in the evening. Depending on length of trip, I may wash tops/undies in sink and hang to dry.

I went in July a few years back with my family. It wasn't a super long trip - 4 nights. The heat and humidity was brutal - a lot like home in the DC/Baltimore suburbs. I think we each had shorts and a t-shirt for wearing during the day and then an outfit for the evening - comfy sun dresses for DD and I or polos and khaki shorts for DH and DS. I think we brought 2 swimsuits each as well because we did afternoon pool/nap breaks.

A couple of questions - are you driving or flying (really is space in your bag a premium or not). Depending on that depends on my answer (at least for how I pack). My summer outfits are normally a light summer casual dress of some type and sandals that are comfortable. I do tend to pack an extra outfit but because I normally go to the park from when we get there to close I don't change that day. If I knew I was going back to the hotel before dinner I would probably be inclined to pack an extra outfit for the evening, and the suggestion of an outfit for that evening and then the next day would probably be my plan since I tend towards dresses for the summer (so good for dinner out as well). It also depends on if you plan to check a bag or are trying to do carryon. For that length I would be inclined to do a carryon (if flying), and therefore would pack more strategically - whereas if I'm not flying I've been known to pack the largest bag I own with stuff I will never wear just in case - even for that short a trip! So my answer is it depends on your packing space :)

At WDW, we shower at night, before bed, because we feel filthy after the parks lol. So we always pack a day outfit, and an evening one. Whether we've gone back to the pool or not if we are going out at night we like to refresh, and if not we shower and get in comfy resort clothes or pjs. We also don't sleep in pjs twice without washing, and bring at least two bathing suits each ( nobody likes to put on a wet suit and after a rinse they rarely dry).
So-
Two complete outfits each day, plus pajamas, and two swimsuits. We also bring a sweatshirt. But we always do laundry mid trip, so really it isn't too much.
If you don't want to do laundry- pack a lot of clothes as you will be hot and sticky!

We are flying!

I bring two outfits a day. A park/day outfit and a dinner outfit. Dinner clothes range from nice for signature restaurant to casual but cute tops with long pants. I’m often cold in restaurants and prefer long pants.

I have two kids and we fly from Australia. Usually spending 4-5 weeks in the USA.

We bring for each kid / adult
4 pairs of shorts / bottoms
5-6 tshirts
1 sweater
7 underwear
2 dresses
1 PJ's
2 swimsuits

I usually do a wash every 5-6 days if I can
We usually have two suitcases in total

I wear the same bottoms (in summer either shorts or a skort) at least twice. So for a 6 night trip I'll usually take 3 or 4 skorts/shorts, a shirt for each day with maybe 2 extras, 2 bathing suits, at least 12 pairs of undies (if I go back to the room to the pool or rest I don't like putting back on sweaty undies) 2 bras, a light weight sweater or jacket (I get cold in restaurants some times) something to sleep in and a pool cover up, rain gear and at least 3 pairs of sandal/shoes. I rarely if ever go anywhere to eat that I can't wear what I wore to the parks since I don't wear short shorts and my skorts look like a skirt. I take a mixture of t-shirts and non t-shirts so a non-t-shirt and skort are fine for anywhere I eat. If I changed into a different shirt at night, I wear that same shirt the next morning since odds are I just wore it for a few hours.

I bring 1 outfit per day plus a few extra thrown in - however - I usually wear 2 outfits a day… I’m DVC and stay in 1Br or larger units with a washer/dryer - I do laundry constantly!

We pack in fours. Four tee shirts four shorts four pants four socks a hoodie and a waterproof jacket and that’s us. I always do daily laundry though as we have rooms with laundry

That's pretty much what I bring on vacation. I do tend to over pack, but usually use everything I pack at least once. I don't like to be sweaty and find I change a lot if that happens. I also don't like to do laundry while on vacation. I like a "vacation" away from that when on vacation:)
I know I over pack, but I can't seem to pack any less! At least I have things if I need them, whether or not I wear them. We always fly and have 2 bags to check. I have a large vinyl tote that I carry what I think we can't do without, IE' meds, papers, things like that.
I know this is not the norm, but it works for us. My husband just sighs and carries the suitcases out to the car:) Gotta love him!

This should be fun...four per day. PJ's, lounge wear (t-shirt and pj pants), morning outfit and evening outfit. We usually have a 1BR so I can wash daily. DH gets away with two outfits a day LOL! So we bring two pairs of jeans, a pair of nicer pants each. I pack a few tee shirts for DH and an aloha shirt for each day. I overpack my tee's, tops, purses and shoes. I coordinate our outfits (not matchy, matchy).

We had an OL for a couple years but it just didn't work that well for us or eliminate what we brought. I've used usps one price boxes most years for heavy items like shoes and jeans and ship it right to the resort. I'll toss some things on the way out. We have two large, carry on Away bags which we check, a backpack and a large weekend zip tote we carry onboard.

I would bring or buy a small bottle of woolite, plastic hangers and wash anything lightweight and hang dry in the shower. Roll wet items in a clean, dry towel and then hang. If you have a ceiling fan, find a way to hang in that room when you are out...I'm sure the door knockers have seen worse LOL!

:laundy:

Summer trips are actually easier to pack for. We never go back to the hotel before ten or eleven, so the shorts and tank I start the day with is what I end up in. I never need a sweatshirt for summer nights so other than a swim suit it’s easy to plan!

Seems like I always pack more than I need, however I’m glad I did when we went back in November! We needed all the seasons!
