How many or how far into the future are your trips planned?

I know that DVC is all about planning, with that being said, how many trips or how far into the future are your trips planned. (include non Disney trips as well)

Last year in the fall we had 3 trips planned and booked. Fast forward to today when we have finished 2 of those trips and only have the one left. Sept/Oct for 9 days at BCV/BLT for MNNSHP.

I am so torn with what I want to plan for next year. I have about 4-5 options that I am looking at, but I also am thinking that with 3 Disney trips in 10 months (including a DCL cruise) it is time to get going on next years trips options, which might not include WDW

I have heard people plan 3-5 years into the future. How far do you plan your trips?

I know the general idea of when our next two trips will be (October 2012 and September 2013). We just bought DVC so I'm sure I'll have our trips planned at least 2 years out because I want to know where we will be with our points.

Family reunions, we plan 1 1/2 yrs ahead, making reservations at 11 months, gives everyone time to save up for airfare etc.. The rest, Oct or Nov, Jun and Aug of every year, I plan about 5-7 months out! I've always gotten the resort and accomodations I've wanted following this practice!

We have three trips booked for this year. And waiting for our 11 month window next month to book another one. I love DVC!!

5 more this year, and 1 so far for next year.

We are new to DVC and before we would always have the current year planned at least a year ahead and then would also have a pretty good idea for the following year. With DVC we have two trips planned for this year and hoping for Aulani next summer with DLR and northern CA for 2013. Planning three years out is new for us so will have to see how it works out now that have DVC.

We're also new members, and have two planned and booked: a cruise for this year and a trip for the marathon in Jan. in WDW, and working on planning a fall trip for 2012 to either Hilton Head or Vero.

We'll be starting to try for a little one after the marathon, so we're holding any plans depending on that.

new DVC member. already have 3 trips booked for 2011-2012. waiting on 7 month window for Vero in Sept 2012. may also add a Jan 2012 trip.

so far, no non-Disney trips planned. but i really havent taken a non-Disney trip in the last 5 years without DVC either. oh well...

Vero and WDW next month (booked at 7-month window exactly); just called three days ago and booked Aulani for Christmas; probably will go back to WDW for spring break, but haven't called yet.

As far as non-Disney, we are going to Vancouver with a stop at Whistler, though later in that trip, we'll fly down to Anaheim for a couple of days at DLR (VGC if the waitlist comes thru!).

I'm already planning for my first stay at the future resort on the Sea of Tranquility...if that tells ya.

We're booked through DSis and my F&G Festival vacation for next April. However, we are also booked out to a DCL Dream 5 night double dip cruise that leaves August 19, 2012. That's for cash not point.

July 2-11 - split stay BLT/AKV Kidani/AKV Jambo CL
Sept 1-5 - CSR (couldn't resist a free dining trip now that kids are "adults" on the DDP. Also get a "bonus" 4 park days on our AP's that expire the end of September.)
Dec 17-20 - BLT (1st trip to see Xmas decorations)
Next June - 1st DCL trip on the Fantasy - 7 night Eastern Caribbean

I would normally have a spring break trip on the books as well by now for next year, but we're going to take a little break from WDW next year because of the cruise.

We have out August 2011 (annual vacation) and October 2011 (niece's wedding) trips booked and fully planned out. I know the dates of our July 2012 trip and am just itching to be able to book it.

We have completed two trips in the past 6 months, and we have two more booked (early Dec. and early March). I am also planning the following November, and will be booking that come December. On top of that, we are planning a November 2013 Hawaii trip, and I am in the "looking" stages for that. I have specific dates I need to be on Oahu, but beyond that, I'm still thinking about how I will make the rest of the trip happen. Either I will try for an RCI exchange, or I will book something through VRBO and rent out some points to cover the cost.

I have our vacation to the Amazon booked already and it's 8 months away. I hate booking so far in advance but this is a small boat and when I called to inquire, I discovered there was only one cabin left so I booked it (I had called in January to see about 2011 and they were already sold out).

I hate booking anything this far out. My parents and my inlaws are all in their 80s. Between their ages and my health, it just doesn't make sense to plan that far into the future.

Our 2012 to WDW for our middle DD's bat mitzvah gift is planned.

I'm sure I'll start planning another way before I can make my ADRs.

So, so glad I'm NOT alone....

Because I own a wedding planning company and have brides booking us already for 2013, we have vacations on the calendar two years out.

I'd be happy having them on our radar, but my partner is already really active on a Roll Call for a southern Caribbean cruise for spring 2013.

And we've got more DVC booked for December 2011 and 2012

We usually have our next 2-3 trips planned out. We have our next two planned. One in Oct. and a cruise in April. We know we're doing a 3rd in Dec. of 2012 but obviously can't book it yet.

No 2013 plans just yet. Though we have some concepts.

I always book my trips right at 11 mos so this is what we have planned so far

6/26-7/2 HHI
10/6-10/12 VWL and our 1st MNSSHP
and just booked
4/14/12-4/21/12 BCV

We typically travel to WDW in April and then again in Oct/Nov and just started a new family tradition last year of going to HHI in June.
