How Many Of Your Referrals Ended Up Purchasing?

We Have Been Membership Since 1994 And Have Given Our Names To A Lot Of People About Joining Dvc. We Actually Know Of Only About 12 That Have Ended Up Purchasing. How Many New Members Have Your Referred. Wonder How Much Of New Membership Comes From Referrals?

We bought about three weeks ago. We referred my brother when he went down there. He was just going to "check it out", but had no intention of buying. Him and his fiance toured on the last day of their trip which entailed a stay at All-Star Resorts. They fell in love with SSR immediatly and purchased on the trip.

So far, I'm 1 for 1!!

On my side of family, I have an aunt who is fellow DVC member who has mega points and just purchased additional points via resale. All family members know that if they ever want to stay on property, they can "mooch" off her. If she's out of points and they are desperate, they will call me and if I have the points to spare I MAY rent them some points around $8 (only did this ONCE and it depends on how well I like the relative of course).

On DH's side of the family, they have been to DVC on OUR dime. His siblings will never buy in and while his parents can afford it, they probably never will and that's fine with us. A family trip once in a LONG blue moon is fine with us but I certainly don't want to meet up with them all the time - I want to KEEP WDW as the happiest place on earth! Lol!

I have invited friends with us before - again our treat - and friends will either "get it" or not. Those that don't get it won't buy. My friend that did get it - I steered her and her DH to the resale market. I usually chuck those referral cards into the trash.

The only time I, personally, would refer them to DVC directly would be (1) if they asked me about DVC first AND (2) I know it would take too long to get them to understand everything and they would never figure out the resale market. Of course, things may change now with the addition of AKV - I may direct interested parties (if any) directly to DVC - although, I would still point out the option of resale too.

In almost six years of membership I've lost count of the people I've refered to DVC. A couple purchased resales and only one resulted in a reward from DVC and that came in just last week.
