With so many people choosing villa/condo rentals over onsite park hotels, I was wondering how many of you with or without kids,

cook most of your meals at your place,
only prepare breakfast and keep snacks in the refrigerator,
or eat every meal out and just like the comfort of condo/villa living on vacation??

My answer: Depending on where we vacation, such as Disney/Universal this year, we will be staying at the Amerisuites. Having the refrigerator is great for our snacks, drinks, etc. Since the hotel offers free continential breakfast, thats all we need to jumpstart our day, and we usually have a big lunch, and share our dinners. If we have a car this time, we will probably look for places that offer buffets, and splurge on one nice dinner. If we travel to beach resorts, we always book a condo, fix our own breakfast and split lunch and dinners either at our condo or dine out.

We cook most of our meals. We're staying offsite in a house with a pool. Since we're going in August we plan to have breakfast, get to the parks for opening, stay until about 1:00 p.m. and then head back to the house. We plan to go back at night a few times. Since we're there for two weeks and getting the flex passes (and not going to WDW) I don't feel that we have to be there all day for 14 days to get everthing in. I also plan to spend one night on site at US/IOA to take advantage of the FOTL perk.

I bring two coolers.
Doughnuts and milk for breakfast.
Order pizza in from Flippers and put leftovers in ziplock bags.
Eat a couple times at the restaurants.

The breakfast at the Amerisuites is great. They have waffle irons and all kinds of stuff. Much more than the standard bagels and cheese.

I cook at home, plenty! I will not cook on vacation. :sad2:

Robvia, will you invite me over for meals? That's my kind of vacation menu!

We cook our breakfasts (hearty ones ... no pop-tarts or donuts) in our timeshare, eat lunch out and about, as well as most dinners. We do order Chinese from 68 (organic!) one night usually in the middle of our trip, and the leftovers will feed us for another meal.

A big part of the villa on vacation for us is space, a feeling of home and all the extras you just don't get in your average hotel room. I'm just not right during the day, either, unless I get my homestyle breakfast -- especially with all the activity, heat and other "naughty" foods we treat ourselves to on vacation ;)

I hate even making a pot of tea on our vacations.

Meals ae expensive though. We've also done the Club Room Level at RPR resort. Nice amenity, but with just a family of three, I don't think we made out on the deal.
