I got one, although I haven't had time to even think about it while I'm trying to finish the car quests. At this rate, they will be asking for 100 ghosts and 350,000 in fireworks by the weekend. . .

I am planning on getting one because I already have almost 10,000 credits from working on these quests so why not go for 20,000?

I have one. I was bad and bought one the other night when I 'joined' a friend who was in Star Traders (which you can no longer do). I got it before I earned it. However, I have since completed the required quests, and can get to the shop on my own now.

I haven't tried to make any quests with it yet.

You can't trade them so you have to use them both.

Hmm if these are not tradeable I'm a little confused how your mom helped out. If she bought you one with her 100,000 credits she can not give it to you.

You can use the machines to reward credits...So if a mom bought a machine, she could set up a quest with a credit reward
