GoofyJoofy - I didn't catch that one at first, but I knew what you meant. We all goof here in these parts! But I don't believe concierge staff can accept tips....but the issue has been debated on other threads. I've heard a few stories of someone slipping them a tip and another report of that a CM can accept a tip up to $50 or something to that effect. I think it's safe to give them gifts & the majority rules says they will not take a cash tip. Many have reported that gifts are always appreciated and well liked. Pay them in chocolate so to speak...hehehe, which sounds rather good to me. Gals love flowers, too!

I just booked GVC at the Poly. We have been to WDW many, many times and stayed in all categories but this is the very first time we will be staying concierge. I can't tell you how excited we are. I am just afraid that we won't be able to go back to non-concierge.

I don't know what came over me, until now this had NEVER been a consideration. But reading these boards has sparked my curiosity.

We will be staying 2 nights in August. :

JKELLY - You won't regret your decision - after you get there! It is hard to make a decision and stick to it, that's why I've started splitting my trip between resorts! The Poly is one of our favorite resorts, it's sooo beautiful and relaxing, you'll have a wonderful time!!

Welcome, Tammy! You're going to love this thread! It does have a way of getting you into "the lounge," doesn't it? Lots of lizards love the Poly so I think you made a good choice.

You, too, JKelly! I don't think you two will be disappointed. It's definitely on my "TO DO" list that I've created .

Also, if you can't decide on one, why not split it?!

Melissa at IPO just emailed me our finished itinerary. I was looking over it and noticed that for the carriage ride I booked for DH and myself it was for Thursday May 31st 2007!
I wrote her back and explained to her what the itinerary showed and also told her that if there wasn't anything avaliable for what I had originally asked for, it was certainly not a big deal. Just thought I would share what I found to be so amusing.

i don't know if anyone has posted this info yet, but www.giftsofalifetime.com will arrange to have treats delivered to your room. You can browse what they have on their website, or call them, from what I understand, they can get just about anything for you.
I am wondering about a Cinderella dress for my daughter. Should I contact CPO and see if they would be able to arrange it, or just pick it up and have it delivered to the room on our first day there? I called IPO on Monday and left a message to call me back and still haven't heard from them. How much longer should I wait until I call back?
Tammy--I upgraded our room to GV concierge at the Poly too, it's a surprise for the family, they will be so thrilled.
GoofyJoofy--I arranged something special for each family member, but not necessarily something left in the room. For DS, 12, we are doing a fireworks cruise (something he wanted to do). For DS, 8, there is Star Wars Weekend at MGM and he is a huge fan. For DD, 5, we are having dinner at the GF with Cinderella. For dd, 1, we are having dinner with Pooh!

I'm packing everyone! We have a few crazy busy days ahead, so I'm hoping to have everything done & ready for Wednesday AM by tonight. Got an e-mail from IPO yesterday (along with the 81 others from various senders that had apparently been stuck somewhere in AOL's system) asking if there was anything else they could do for us before we arrive. I love Poly CL!

ead79 - keeping my fingers crossed for success with your interview - sounds promising! And your parents sound like absolute angels! You are truly blessed!

I'm getting nervous reading about everyone booking Poly CL for the fall - hope there's still room for us! Oh well, if there isn't, it might be the cosmic kick in the pants we need to try another resort. Our first AKL stay? That doesn't sound too bad to me!

I GOT THE JOB!!! I am so excited!

They called me late yesterday afternoon and asked if I could come in for a 2nd interview today at 8:00 this morning. They wanted to get the ball rolling a bit faster. Well, when I went in this morning, they talked to me for a few minutes, then they offered me the position. It's even going to be a small raise from what I was making at my old job. Best of all, I will get 4 weeks paid vacation (not this year since I'm started later in the year though)! What's more, they are interested in meeting my best friend to possibly hire her too (she also works in marketing). I'm not sure exactly when I'll be starting yet. They are checking with their travel agent to see if they can fly me up to the tradeshow that they are attending in NYC this Monday so I can observe it. I'm sort of hoping that I don't go to that one so I'll have a chance to go to the office first and learn a little bit of the ropes, but either way will work out.

I can't thank you all enough for your prayers and good wishes! They really mean the world to me, and they obviously helped!

steveanddonna - I have been going crazy, trying to find out about my SWA Click 'n Save emails, and my allears newsletter! I haven't gotten them in a month! Do you get allears? If so, was that one that didn't make it through? Just wondering, I've tried sending them a message, looked all over Hotmail, nothing.

Sorry haven't been around lately. I came to try to catch up today but my daughter and I are going out to play today. You are all quite the talkative bunch to say the least!

Anyway, we are going in a few days and are very excited about our upcoming stay at the Polynesian. (A little worried too because we love Wilderness Lodge....)

To SteveandDonna and Woodysroundup (they left already I think?) have a great trip! Hope to bump into you guys down there.

GoofyJoofy - Thanks, I just saw your pm - really appreciate it!! I haven't gotten allears newsletters since the April 20 issue, which I actually got on April 21. For a couple weeks prior to not getting it altogether, I would get it as much as 4 days later than when it said it was sent. Don't know what's going on there. I'm starting to get a little frustrated!!
