:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:</center>

Wow!!!!!MamaTink!!!What a AWESOME Anniversary Dinner story! Isn't AKL CL the BEST?::yes::

Debbie....LOL! That AKL pool bar is really nice! Have alot of good memories there! And so glad that you got "your" room to see "your" ankole family! He's GROWN, hasn't he? Your babY!!!!:earseek:

mom_rules...as usual, the YC CL came up to the plate and delivered another wonderful CL experience! ::yes::

I missed staying there, since they "lost" our room last time, but the BC CL was just as nice.
But....NO stone crab!!!!:( ;)

hunnypotmama...and ValerieK...BC CL is just as nice as YC CL. the rooms are just decorated differently.
I'm really glad we got to experience the BC CL this last trip.
The CMs at the YC/BC bounce back and forth between the two CLs, so you really get fantastic service from both!:teeth:

WoodysRoundup...LOL! So happy for you about your May trip! I'm glad you're doing something before DECEMBER!
I knew you'd burst if you didn't get a CL "fix" !!!!:hyper:
Believe me, girlfriend, I completely understand!:wave2:

dreamflight99...WOW! What a CAKE!!!!!and how magical for your DD! Thank you for sharing! I love hearing all your CL stories!::yes::

Gosh!!! I'm gone for a couple of days and all of ya'll have been posting away!

These recent mini-trip reports are just CONFIRMATION to the wonderful experience of staying in concierge at WDW.

So glad everyone had a magical time and back home safe and sound! :grouphug:

Oh my gosh. Only eight more days till we will be visiting AKL CL! With all the new posts by the recent visitors to AKL CL, I am really getting in the Disney World spirit and am having a hard time concentrating on the real world! Sounds like Mom Rules and Debbie had a most excellent time at AKL!

Can any of you recent AKL conciergers tell me how long via Disney transport it will take to get from AKL to DTD? We have Cirque du Soliel tickets at 9 p.m. on our arrival nite and I'm trying to determine when we need to leave the lodge to get to DTD westside? I made a PS for Wolfgang Puck at 6:30 p.m. (the latest they will do a PS for the cafe there) and am hoping I don't have to leave too early from the Lodge to get there. TIA!

Vagal76-- I have it all planned out in my mind how I am going to wait until we are on our way to the airport to tell them where we are going and have this big surprise. But then EVERYDAY I want to scream "guess what, we're going back the day you get out of school" I don't know if I am going to be able to stand it. I am going to try, but I don't know

Thanks, Bambi, I hadn't even considered a cab. Sounds like the best way since we'll be pooped from the traveling as it is our first nite. We will definitely post a mini CL review upon our return (4 nites AKL CL and 2 nites BC CL). Thanks!

Thanks Majestic... SOOOOO glad you're there. You ARE the WL guru, you know!

Just planned a last minute WL CL trip with my Mom and two toddlers. I read in the "Unofficial Guide" that CL should be avoided at WL b/c none of those rooms have good views! It doesn't matter, Mom really wants to stay CL so we won't be changing our minds. My question is this....what type of request should I make regarding our room? Which are close enough to the lounge? Do any have bunk beds? What kinds of views DO they have? All 7th fl. rooms are non-smoking, correct?

Is the IPO # 407.824.3200? What types of things should I ask for CL staff assistance with (aside from PS ressies)? Can they help arrange a Mother's Day gift in the room for my Mom? In your experience, what should I call on them for?

Did I ask you enough ques.? LOL! Basically any advice you'd like to share, I'm :earsgirl: ("all ears")! THANKS!

goodferry We were trying to keep our May trip a secret from DS. I always wanted to tell him because I was sooo excited, but I thought he would love to wake up one morning and be told we were leaving for WDW. Well, last week we had to tell him we were going. :( This is his last year of elementary school and the 5th graders go on a field trip to a challenge ropes camp. He has been looking forward to this trip since last year. Yeah, you guessed it, they are going the week we will be at WDW. His teacher never told me when I was talking to her about us going that week. He came home last week with the permission slips all excited. I had to tell him, he was pretty upset about missing the field trip. Then he found out we were staying at BC (DS says - Yeah! SAB!), and we were staying Concierge (DS says - Yeah! Free Food!) and we had AP (DS says - We are going more than once? Yeah!) Now he is counting down the days. When I told him we were going to surprise him, he thought that it would have been the best! ::yes:: Oh well, maybe we can surprise him some other time. Keep it a surprise, I would love to be able to see the look on their faces. :Pinkbounc

Well, never say never. I said I wasn't going to switch resorts again but another friend is joining us so I think the Poly GVC will accomodate 5 more easily than the YC. ( This has nothing to do with my fear of overcrowding at SAB).
I was looking at square footage, and it seems that the rooms at the Poly are a bit bigger than the YC and since I'll be sharing the room with 4 teenagers, I need all the room I can get.
I've noticed that the Poly CL has somewhat mixed reviews, from glowing reports to people complaining about "moldy smell". I'm going to try to concentrate on positive reviews instead of obsessing over negative ones.
I'm hoping that people's resort preferences will be like parent's teacher preferences. One parent may really dislike a certain teacher but that teacher may be a perfect match for my child.
On that note, can anyone tell me if there is a nice garden view I might request. I've asked for a patio room so the kids can easily run out to the pool.

Gosh, I was here less than 24 hours ago & I still had 3 pages of posts to catch up on! Don't know how you all do it when you've been away for days!

We kept our January trip a secret from our niece until the weekend before; we had to tell her then so she could have a "sleepover" with us by herself without her brother as a trial run for the trip. At first when we told her she didn't seem to quite get it, and we figured, well, she's not quite 5, she doesn't realize. By the end of the evening, though, after it really sank in, she was singing "It's a Small World" and reminding us about what things she needed to pack. She kept her mom busy the rest of that week ('cuz she's not busy enough w/2 toddlers & 2 infants, right?) asking to watch the video from her 1st Disney trip in 2001. BTW, she is now a concierge connoisseur. She keeps telling her Mom that when they go they have to stay in the hotel with the living room where you can eat your cereal by the TV. Yes, CL has something for everybody!

Guru eh? Heh.

Well, I would have to say that all cortyard views are good regardless of location on the 7th floor. By courtyard there are actually two types. One is the main courtyard view which shows the main pool and the stream and waterfall. The other is the villas courtyard view which shows the quiet pool and the villas. I prefer the main view as you can see Bay Lake and the electric water pagent at night plus I love to hear the water running below.

If I remember correctly, the lower the last digits of the room number the further away you are from the lounge area. Example: If you were in 7037 you would be further away than if you were in 7067. Follow me? This is something I would ask the IPO about to make sure. (Tell them I said hi!)

I know that some rooms have bunks but not sure of numbers. Again, something the IPO could help you with.

If you want to check out room views, I have some posted at my website for WL pics. There is a balcony view area for you to check rooms on the 7th floor. (All start with a 7) 71xx is south wing closest to the villas and 70xx is the north wing closest to the MK. If you want a view of MK and Fireworks, you will need a 70xx room that is a Woodsview. Of course you gain and lose with this as you cannot see the lake or main pool area from a woodsview room. Some people prefer woodsview though too so it's hard to say.

Yes, all rooms on the 7th floor are non-smoking. No exceptions.

As for requests for the CL staff, I have said it before and will say it again here, my experiences with the EXCELLENT staff at WL CL is they will do anything within reason for you. I don't see a problem with them helping you get a Mother's Day gift in the room for your Mom.

To close, all of the staff on the floor there are wonderfull. They will take good care of you and your family. I stand behind that 100% and you can print that. :)

Why oh why did I keep looking at this thread! Like Steffy said it was like rubbernecking I KNEW I couldn't resist.

So I changed my reservation to BC CL. Does anyone have any pictures?

I'm so excited. I love SAB (yes, getting a chair is a PIA but looking around you will eventually find at least one unused chair).

Do people hang out in the lounge? Although I will have my parents with me I know they like to go off on thier own and I'll just have my two DD's with me. It would be nice to have a little seating area to relax outside the room.

What kind of food should I expect? Any info would be appreciated!

TIA!

OK-here's my question. I'm currently planning on just a quick 3 night trip for MVMCP this December 2nd-5th. It will be myself, DH, DD 13 and DS 2 at the time. DH wants to stay at Poly for the monorail access (folding the stroller irritates him) and I want to stay at WL for the ambiance. No matter what, I'm staying CL. Which would be the best for us out of either resort? Do CL ever offer AP rates? How close are the CL rooms to the monorail station?

Thanks everyone!

WELCOME to the LIZARD LOUNGE, MaryKatesMom!!!

LOL! Rubber-necking is very dangerous around these parts!;)
WE stayed at the BC CL last month and LOVED it.
FULL balconies on CL level and the room was decorated in lovely muted greens and peach. The tiny seahorses on the wallpaper were the finishing touch!
I'm still working on my photo site and I'm supposed to have pics of that room. But, you will LOVE their staff, lounge, and the atmosphere.

But, heck! What can I say?
ANY CL at WDW I've experienced has been wonderful.
Even when YC CL "lost" our room, they accomodated us!::yes::

Majestic...the GURU!LOL! I LOVE IT!!!!!:teeth:
Glad you're here to answer Woody's questions!

sarha....Never noticed any moldy smell at Poly and the kids can just come and go as they please.
Check out tikiman's site

HERE.

The last room, X534, I wouldn't want, next to the staff and loading area for elevator. But, further down would be nice.
We've had GVC before and absolutely had a fabulous time.
PolyGVC is nice, because of the beautiful grounds, foliage, and the quite pool.
And with 4 teens! CL food offerings will come to the rescue to get those "bottom-less pits" full! :earseek:

steveanddonna...i know what you mean! I'm "gone" for two days and THREE pages of posting! You'd think we didn't have lives beyond the DIS and Disney planning! LOL!:p ;)

A BIG WAVE to all the other lizards in the lounge!

WELCOME keriannhoward!!!!!

Yes, AP discounts on CL rooms can be had, but you need to stick around these boards and mousesavers.com to get the jump on getting those CL rooms!::yes::

No matter what, you're staying CL....hmmmm, methinks you've found a place to hang out!;)

The decorations at WL during the holidays are fantastic!
In fact, the GF and AKL are the only rivals to those decorations...IMHO.

Either way, you'll have a wonderful CL experience!
And, it may come down to what rooms you can get with the APs.
That may determine where you'll stay, also.:sunny:

Stick around the LIZARD LOUNGE!

sarha - we've stayed at the Poly 3x now, and never gotten a room that smelled moldy. I have asthma, and any little odor sets me off, but I've never been affected at the Poly. Our stay a couple weeks ago in the Hawaii bldg. was fantastic, I highly recommend it!:sunny: The lounge is great, and the cm's are sooo wonderful, you will love them.

I'm not saying that getting a "moldy" smelling room (or odor of any kind) at any Disney resort is impossible - but if that happens, just let the cm's know, they will give you another room. I have read posts from nearly all the resorts where people have had to move to another room due to smells, carpet stains, etc. but, for some reason, everybody has the impression that this only happens at the Poly!!

You have chosen an excellent resort, and you are right, those Poly rooms are HUGE!!::yes:: DD and I felt like we were swimming in those rooms!;)

How about a scorpion in your room?

Happened last week at ASMU.
