Wow, that's great!! Did they add an extra day for the Safari, with the resorts so full?! Have a great time!!:wave2:

I think they did add it, because in the stuff we were sent there is nothing on a Sunrise Safari on Wednesday, just Tuesday and Saturday. There was a wwaiting list for that Tuesday, and it may have been better to add Wednesday than add people to the Tuesday safari. I'm just glad they did it and I can go on the Safari.

That is wonderful about the extra safari day added! I am so glad you'll be able to go on the sunrise safari! DS and I went last January and loved it so much we're taking DH with us, even if he does complain about how much we're spending! *Does anyone else totally ignore the question "How much is this costing us?" at home?

I fed Dory, so please don't overfeed him! BT will be so happy to see that Dory is nice and healthy upon her return!

I can't wait to read all of the new trip reports!

Debbie

Ok I can offically post here! :teeth: I did it... I finally broke down and I am staying GVC Poly this May.... I went from staying at POFQ to WL to Poly GV to Poly GVC!! I got the 7 for 4 deal and I just couldn't pass up an extra 57.00 a night to upgrade to concierge...

Since this is my first stay on site I have a feeling I am setting my expectations to high and I will ALWAYS want concierge after this vacation...

I have a few questions-

Can you get an occassional beer at night instead of wine or liquiors?

Can I email them now with my questions or concerns? I need to have connecting rooms and I would really like to request them. Where can I find their email address?

Should I let them know we will be arriving on my DH birthday?

Luv2trav - many people have posted stating you can request beer in the evening, it is not out, but is available. Yes, you can email now, I emailed a few days after my res. as they did not contact me. You can go to tikiman's site for the address. DEFINITELY tell them it's DH's birthday!!

Debbie - glad you remembered Dory, I might have forgotten! And, I can't usually get away with ignoring the question, so I have to pretend I've answered, then change the subject!!::yes::

How long did it take for them to contact you after you emailed? I will email them first thing tomorrow...

Each time, they have emailed me back the next day - once, I think, later that afternoon. Very quick, better than calling!!::yes::

I emailed YC Concierge and included my phone #-received a phone call 20 mins later!!

I just emailed late lastnight and they responded first thing this morning. They attached a personal itinary sheet for me to fill out! :Pinkbounc I am so excited..

I need advice from all you concierge experts. Was planning on doing GF RPC (a "girly" Christmas trip for my sister and me) but have now figured out that I can do concierge at either BWI or Poly (both resorts I really want to visit) for the same price or less that the price of a standard LV room at GF. What should I do? If we don't do GF we'll probably extend our stay by 2 days. What to do, what to do?

I do a girls trip every year. Last year we stayed at the BWI concierge and were so spoiled we won't stay anywhere else now! I returned there in Oct. with my husband and he was sold on it also. The proximity to Epcot and the cast are the 2 major resons for staying there. I have stayed at the Poly, YC and BC concierge and I LOVE the BWI:bounce: The lounge is so comfortable and the cast are warm and friendly without being overbearing. They go above and beyond for their guests. I have made some wonderful new friends there and can't wait to return "home" in just 8 more days!

What is the difference between RPC and Lodge concierge at GF? Is RPC really worth an extra $700 for five nights. I know they don't offer liquor or wine at Sugar Loaf but I'm thinking for $700 I could buy my own if I really wanted it! I know AP rates are available for some concierge rooms, but are they harder to get for GF? Right now my TA can book any concierge room with a AAA rate, so that's good at least.

Hi everyone

I am "thinking" of maybe adding concierge to our reservation at Wilderness Lodge.
We have a courtyard booked, and have requested a inner courtyard view w/ a bunk bed room.

Does anyone know if the 7th floor concierge courtyard rooms are all inner courtyard, or do some of them face the villas as well?

Thanks!
~Chris

The views are the same for Concierge as the rest of the hotel so, yes, there are courtyard with a villas and quiet pool view.

leighe, based on your other post, I would probably consider a different concierge (like YC or BWI or Poly) before I did lodge concierge at the GF. That way you could shrink the budget a bit but still get "full" concierge. I believe that the lodge concierge closes a good bit earlier than the main building concierge. I'm not 100% positive, but I think they stop serving after the afternoon snacks, so I don't think there are evening appetizers or desserts/cordials. The lodge concierge is great I'm sure, my personal preference would just be to switch to a different resort where I could get full service concierge for the same price as lodge concierge at the GF. Just my 2 cents. :)

We had the same dilemma as you for our upcoming trip. We opted to go "all out" and book RPC with AAA discount. If we are going to do concierge, we wanted the total pkg. We decided , at least for this time, it's worth it for us. It really is your personal feelings on what is better for you. I've read that there's nothing like being in that main bldg.!!!

Good luck!!!

Thankyou Fred !!!!

That info helps me know what to list as my room local "request".

Anybody else having a terrible time with the SLOW boards this week? It's been the dickens trying to get my daily lounge lizard fix!

Hi STEVEANDDONNA.....Yes!!! I looked on the tech support board and it seems other people have been having trouble too. It's been horrible. Sometimes I can't even get on. :(

Me too!! This is the first time I've been able to get on for a couple of days - prior to that, I had a day where I could get on, but couldn't view any threads!!:(
