How many of us were fertile right off of the bat??(inspired by negative test thread)

I've been pregnant twelve times. I have seven children and have had five miscarriages. Though fertile, it doesn't always work out.

 Me! We didn't even "try" with DS1- he was a surprise!

DS2 we tried two times- first month...nothing....second month- DING DING DING- I was pregnant. I feel very lucky. We are *thinking* about a third and I am being quite careful with the B.C. until we are sure.

Just look at my countdown timer and know I've only been married since Jan. 1997 and that pretty much gives you the answer. ;)
I got pregnant the month after we started trying with both my first and second children, my third and soon-to-be fourth baby were "happy accidents."
I always feel terrible reading about others' fertility problems because I don't have any and I wish I could "share" my ability to get pregnant. Having said that, DH is going to get the "v" when the baby is older. We have enough love and financial support for four, but I think that's already pushing it a bit and it's time to stop.

I too get pregnant if dh looks at me first try for 1# and 2# and #3and# 4. I made dh get fixed , my mom had 15 kids , i didn't want that many, But my heart does go out to couples who have trouble.

I am also one of those fertile mertile's! I just have to think about being pregnant, then, BAM we're expecting. Soon to be 5 kiddos in 7 years of marriage. This time, the dr. is taking everything that he can out of me. 5 children-- 5 and under is plenty (but I love them so very much!!)!!!!

We, however, am Fertile with a capital "F"!

Heck, with my 3rd kid I'm pretty sure all I did was talk to DH on the phone when he was in his hotel room on a business trip.

Another fertile myrtle here. Went off the pill and within the first month, got pregnant with my son (now 6). With my daughter, had one little "oopppsss" which became a big baby that is now 4. Needless to say, my hubby had his vasectomy after she was born.
It did make both of us realize how lucky we were all those years of dating and having unprotected sex. REALLY makes me nervous when I think about how lucky we were. This will be used as a learning experieince to try to convey to my kids when they are older...how important it is to use protection if they decide to have sex. BUT that is a long way off.....I hope!

We were blessed to become pregnant the first time we tried with both kids. We don't plan on having anymore.
My Brother & SIL had a DD 20 years ago, could never get pg again.. or so they thought. My Dnephew Levi was born 5 months ago! Imagine a 21 year age gap! But she loves her little brother!

I got pg with my first ds while I was on the bc pill--and yes I was taking them daily. Got pg with 2nd ds as soon as I got off bc pills to get pg.
But it was a lot harder to get my last 2 ds'.

DD was a surpise and born just after our first year wedding anniversary. With DS we decided to try and a month later I was pregnant, 2 months after DS was born DH had a vasectomy. ;)

Now my sister is a totally different story she was pregnant 3 times and lost all of them. Turns out she'll probably never be able to carry to full term, so for now they've stopped trying. When her DH gets back from deployment next year they'll figure things out, hopefully it'll all work out for them.

My triplets were a one shot deal (and not made out of love)
DD #4 was not quite expected yet but wanted

I was diagnosed with cancer the next year which has killed alot of our chances for more kids- Getting isnt the problem is staying. We've now had 6 miscarriages in 2 years some going as long as 4, 4.5, and 6 months-

Alas maybe next year...

DS#1 took us 3 yrs, had IVF & all sorts of other fertitly stuff & nothing...........then I conceived naturally in between IVF tries.

DS#2.....after all the hassle with DS#1 decided to try about 6 months before we had planned the two would be apart in age, as I thoght it would probably take a few months till it worked.

Well first time BINGO!! So they are 13 months & 3 weeks apart in age, as oppsed to the 18months I had planned:D

Yep, I'm a "Fertile Myrtle" too....or actually, my ex-husband was more likely a "Fertile Freddie", because he's gotten his new wife pregnant 4 times!! (Sadly, she miscarried twice.) We call him the "One-Shot Wonder" because, with us, I was literally pregnant both times within WEEKS of going off birth control--and the same has happened with his current wife.

Count me in. After my husband and I were married for a year, I decided to go off the pill thinking it would take a few months to get my body regulated, but the first month we tried, I became pregnant with DD who is now 19 months old!!!

DD#1 took 2 1/2 years. DD#2 took 2 1/2 months - right after I delivered #1. I was nursing and had not had a period yet. I also had PCOS so my Dr's said I would need to take meds to get PG.

I tell DH all the time that I think I was asleep when DD#2 was conceived.

My kids are 6 days short of a year apart. They will probably be the only ones.

I got pregnant with DD with one "try". I told DH I was ovulating that day (I can tell by the way I feel).... and that was it. She will be 9 this summer. DS was a bit more of a shock. DD was about 22 months and we had started thinking about baby #2, but had been using BC (condoms) (is that TMI?? ). ANYHOW, I went for my walk one lovely morning in early June with DD and was feeling lousy.... but the lousy feeling was somewhat familiar!! I checked the calendar and started counting....28, 29, 30, 31... (I am always 24 days, sometimes less!)..... and went shopping that day for a PG test. SURPRISE!! As it turns out, God knows better than us! We got a TERRIFIC DS, our perfectly balanced family without even trying!! Thank you God!!........P

The only one we had any trouble with was when we were trying to get pregnant with Selena. The doctor was willing to put me on Clomid. I thought "Oh, that won't go over well with a lot of people!" Four kids already and they put her on a fertility drug!? Anyway, we opted not to do that and ended up pregnant a few months later.
