how many of us joined dvc 'cause of f&f incentive?

We went on the tour without knowing about F&F, and I think we probably would have bought anyway. It's hard to say what we would have decided if we hadn't found out about F&F. But we probably wouldn't have gotten 200 points!

We also bought in last week;the F&F did it for us! We are the proud owners of 400 points-2 200 contracts. We are making our 1st trip home in May for our anniv.-just me and the DH;no kids this trip!!! Feeling a little guilty! LOL Angel

After renting a studio on points at BCV in December last, we were jus walking by the open house on the Bordwalk, and said what the hell, let's take a look. Next thing ya know, we were taking the tour ......................and youse all know the rest..................................

I would have joined anyway, but I bought SSR instead of considering resale due to the incentive. It was a very significant amount on our 300 points purchase.

We'll join in too. We looked for over a year then b/c of F&F we went over the edge and bought 200 pts. Glad we did!!

Yes and no. Took the tour, told our guide we wouldn't be buying for a couple years. Hubby decided we should anyway. But we ended up going with 220 points instead of 160 because of the F&F. Lets just say it helped push us over the edge.

Added 175 to the 150 bought last year!!! Additional 2005 points was a real plus! We go to SSR and VB in March...can't wait for EE with 14 year old nephew!

My wife and I just bought in yesterday because of the F&F. After doing all the math, and reading all the great information on this site, the offer just made it the right time to do it. Thanks so much for this site, and we are now proud owners at SSR, and have already planned our first trip at BWV at the end of April.

Well, we wanted to buy but F&F is what pushed us over the edge. We weren't willing to pay "full price" for "new" points, but didn't want to go through the whole ROFR hassle with a resale contract...

F&F...voila! Problems solved!

We joined in December due to the F&F discount. Otherwise we would have joined a year or so later. We first learned about DVC on our 2004 cruise. We did a tour after our 2005 cruise, and then our good 2004 cruise buddies along with this board answered all of our questions and talked us into it.

I still can't believe it's all real! I did the tour last fall, but decided to wait. The program seemed like a great thing for me, but it seemed wiser to wait. Then, in the past month, it's as if the universe has aligned to make now exactly the right time to join. So yesterday I called up my Guide, we worked out the whole thing over the phone, and he said those magic words, "Congratulations, you're a new member of the Disney Vacation Club!" I think one word describes how I'm feeling: YAHOO!!

(Actually, that's not precisely true, since several other words describe that feeling, chief among them: "Eep!"; "w00t!", "Dude!"; and "Eeeeeeeee!" Apparently, I'm not just bouncy right now, but incoherent, too.)

I too just jumped on board. Everything I read indicates that this deal would be hard to beat, and since we visit Disney quite frequently and have a child the age of 3, it seemed like a no brainer.

F&F made us jump off the fence too. Just called in our deposit today and the paperwork is being FedEx'd as we speak. I wonder if I can convince DH to drive the paperwork over there in person this weekend so I can relish in our new purchase? Wish me luck!

We joined last weekend! We knew we would purchase someday, and the discount just made that "someday" a lot earlier!

We're both thrilled now that the decision is made. And I called Member Services for the 1st time today - what a rush - even though I was checking for a family member to use some of my points!

Okay, I just have to post this here, 'cause all you fellow newbies will understand. I put one of Vascubaguy's excellent banners in my signature line right after my deal became final. Now every time I post something and I see it I think "What's that doing there?" It really hasn't sunk in that I am a DVC owner now.

We're leaving on Saturday but not going home, alas I don't think it will really sink in until we've made our first trip home.
