How many of us are from WA state??

We're in the Everett area. I'm already tired of the rain we've had for a week and we still have 4 months to come!

We're going again in Dec-yay! :santa:

My parents live in Kent, and Bittersweet is the one place I always want to go to. I love love their bread pudding. It's also on a cute little street with a couple of cute little shops around it. Call ahead of time for times, for some reason I'm remembering odd hours.

Very cool, thank you!

Bittersweet is really good and now they have the whole Kent Station and its pretty cool. Its something you should check out!

Good ol' Longview, WA, that is where I am at! Hey, I am getting my Master's from Eastern too!!! Working on it right now!

I'm from Tacoma and I hate it here!:headache: To much traffic, people who can't drive when there is a fender bender on the side of the road. must we all stop and look!!!! I grew up in Puyallup and back then there weren't so many dang people here. It's just way to CROWDED HERE!!!!:crowded: My husband and I are going to be moving to Spokane, Wa. We plan on building a house and I will be finishing up my Master's in teaching at Eastern. We have lots of friends and family over there. So, I really miss it!!! It's so much more calm over there and only takes you about 15 minutes to get from one side of the town to the other side. where here it takes almost an hour and 20 minutes to get from Tacoma to Southcenter with traffic. I'm just so sick of the traffic! Not to mention the housing is very expensive here. I'm just not a city kind of gal!

If DH didn't have so many years invested in Boeing and we weren't so close to retirement, we might be tempted to join you. (gosh..that just sounds so weird to me..DH and I met when we were 19 and I can't get used to the idea that we're that old already)

As it is...we'll just have to put up with this area a few more years then make the decision of where to live the rest of our lives.

Not from Wa myself, but my grandparents live in Issaquah. (Pretty popular place it seems)

I spent many summers there as a child in the "crik" (creek) as my grandpa called it. =)

I remember it being so peaceful and now there are apartments across the creek and it is not so quiet anymore. ....and Front street is so busy!

We're on Bainbridge, a 30 minute ferry ride from Seattle. Moved from Sunny SoCal last year (please no flaming!) Still getting used to the weather but we love it here :cloud9: . People keep telling me that it usually doesn't get this cold this early; it has been chilly this week!

I don't know about all of you other Washingtonians, but BRRRRRRRRRRRRR! I'm freezing my butt off! (If only that were literally!):lmao:

What is up with this cold weather?!?!

Yeah...it is kinda cold for this early in the fall...they're even forecasting snow in the passes this weekend.

But....in 5 short weeks, I'm gonna be in sunny California workin' on my tan while visiting my favorite person in the world...THE MOUSE himself.

:cool2: :cool1:

north of everett, south of bellingham here in good ol skagit county and you are right to dang many people around these days

also awful cold for this early in the season

14 days till I fly away... Mickey's Halloween treat here we come!!

I'm in Edmonds where I was born and raised, and never left! I actually love this weather, I'm very much a fall person.

We leave in 3 days to head to DL though where it looks like it's going to be about 80 the entire time we are there! I hope I don't melt. :rotfl2:

I have lived in Spanaway, Puyallup, Sumner, S. Seattle, Kent, Renton, and now in Spokane!!!

We are so opposite. :) We were living in University Place, quasi-rurally, and I despised it. So now we're in a newish apartment building right on the edge of Stadium district and downtown, and LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I can walk to anything I need, and many things I want. Or take Link, take the bus, whatever I want to do. Yay! We don't have the home-ownership gene it seems, but someday, we might just go ahead and buy a condo in downtown, b/c we LOVE it!

As for the slowdown after an accident, I see it the other way. Someone has an accident, those around that naturally slow down b/c they have to be careful they aren't part of it. After that, it's very polite to decrease your speed while going by an accident or even a breakdown, or if a police car is stopped there, so that you aren't zooming by and scaring the victims. I also feel it's respectful to make sure you aren't speeding by. Now, since you are going slower than normal, human nature does come into play, and one might look over (for me it's always to make sure it isn't anyone I know) to see what happened. I used to feel the way you did, that people were all rubbernecking, but then I thought about the alternative, of everyone going at highway speed past an accident and what might happen from that, and I realized that slowing down is a better idea.

Maybe it's just warmer here in downtown Tacoma, but it's bright and sunny, I'm in shorts and have the window open!

Even though I'm a CA girl now, I was born in Seattle, grew up "with" Lynnwood. DH grew up in Tacoma and we own a home in Spokane. We visit our families a couple times a year.

I do miss a beautiful fall sunny day in Seattle by the water, I actually get tired of all the sunshine we get here, yes you read right, you can get tired of sun, we might get some rain tomorrow and am looking forward to it.

The best thing about being in CA is that we only live 389 miles from the mouse, see ya next weekend Mickey!

This has been an AWESOME thread! :thumbsup2

We're in AZ, but planning on moving to WA State as soon as we can sell our house. We haven't settled on any specific area yet, but are considering Island County, Skagit County (Anacortes & Bow), Kitsap County (Kingston, Pouslbo, Indianola) and Jefferson County (Sequim). My dad lives in Coupeville on Whidbey. I am already prepared to grow webbed feet. I'm excited to hydrate my dried out, parched AZ body.

It's been interesting to hear your thoughts on weather, traffic, city vs. rural life, etc. We're looking to be in a more rural area but need to be close enough to get into the city without traveling too terribly far. We also really want to be near the water.

Do most of you fly to DLR? I can't imagine doing that drive. I'm afraid our Disney trips will dramatically decrease once we are in the Pacific Northwest. :sad1:

:rotfl:

We are actually considering moving to AZ ;)
DS is there already. Trying to talk DD into it and then it is a go!

We fly to DLR. Too far for us to drive.

Just started a fire in the fireplace, kicking back and reading the paper prior to diiner. Supposed to be 34 here tomorrow night, still have not turned the heat pump on.

Jack

Hey I'm from WA too! Wait ... oh you mean Washington ;)
