just wondering again about how far in advance people generally book their DVC vacations.

i know many people ideally would like to book 11mos out to guarantee availability, but many times that's just not possible.
so i thought i would run this poll to see.

for those that vary, vote for the average.
if, for example, you always book your NYE trips 11mos out.
but you usually book your summer trips around 6mos out normally, then vote for 8 or 9mos out. something like that.

Well, I voted 7 months. If we want a GV or something special we do it 11 months out. We usually go sometime the first part of May and it just hasn't been too hard getting what we want 7 or 6 months out. We do like to go the first week of December occasionally, we make them 11 months out then.

We always book at 11 months. Then we'll change it at 7 months if we want to stay at a non-home DVC resort.

I voted 11 months out as that is the bulk of our holiday reservations (DVC and otherwise). 7 months is when we book non-home resort holidays, significant but not as frequent as 11 month holidays. And there are always a few very short trips that pop up like AP codes, holidays tied to business travel and the like.

I own at BWV. For our early December trip at BWV, I book at 11 months. For our May trip at OKW, I book at 7 months, never had a problem.

We always book 11 mos. out because we're locked into our dates and it's a fairly popular time of year. (spring break)

We've been four times.

The first trip, we booked about 3-4 months out.

The second, about 2.

the third, about 10 days.

the last one, 2 months.

Our first trip home to SSR in May will the the longest out that I have booked at 5 months. See why I dont worry about that 11 mos booking window?

Our home resort is Hilton Head which we always book at the 11 month window. When we want to stay on Disney property, we book at the 7 month window so I voted for 9 months out because that's the average between 11 and 7. We just love our DVC!

We book at 11...................and change at 7 if there is availability at a non-home resort that we want to try.

We plan waaaaaaaayyyyy further in advance. Anyone else have their DVC vacations planned thru 2008?

We always book VACATIONS at 11 months. We do however book long weekends when the need arises at any point if there is room availability.

Well, technically we're planned out to 2042. 2nd week in May, OKW for the car parking conveinance. We do a lot of off property activities. Mid Oct, BCV for easy Epcot access to the F&W. Early Dec, VWL for the great Christmas decor.

TKO. You are right, we ALL know we'll be there in some way, shape, or form thru 2042 ;). But dates, unit sizes, number of points? I suppose because I rent out points I know we won't be using it has forced me to account for how I'll use each point thru 2008 :).

I voted 11 mos. out. Prior to purchasing DVC I always made our reservations 9 - 11 mos. in advance so that the trip was paid for before we left. I have always hated to go on vacation and come back owing money! DVC was a no brainer and now my rooms are covered until 2042! Annmarie

Hi disneyberry; how are you?

We have to book 11 months out. Our vacations are during the summer. So, until the time comes where we can go during "less busy" times, 11 months it is for us.
