How many miles on your car? What make/model?

2000 Honda accord - 122,000
2005 dodge grand caravan - 140,000
1994 BMW K75- 120,000

The 05 was purchased when our 98 was totaled in a flood with 170,000 two years ago. I would still be driving the 98 otherwise. That thing ran like a top ( until it got caught in a flash flood and had a foot of water inside it)

And the BMW is my MOTORCYCLE. Still looks/rides amazing.

2005 Toyota Highlander with 92,000 miles

It will be paid off next month and I hope it lasts for MANY years to come!!!

ME: 2005 Town and Country - rolled over to 100K last week on our way to Disney. :thumbsup2

DH: 1998 Mustang GT - 180K. DH commutes 45 min to work and knows when it dies he has to buy something practical so he is making it last as long as possible! It has had a new transmission. :rotfl2:

DS19: 2003 Hyundai Tiberon - 45K miles. Stupid POS needed a clutch and fly wheel a month after we bought it at the tune of $1800 (last year) and even though there was a class action suit against Hyundai for the exact problem they turned us down because it had to be down within the first 5 years. If we didn't owe so much on it my son would be driving something else.

DD22: 2001 Chevy Tracker - 140K miles. So far has run great, she loves it!

Now that your car is paid off just keep up on the maintenance, especially servicing the transmission as thats a big cost if it goes out.

A 2004 Hyundai Elantra with 158,000 on it.

A 2001 Nissan X-Terra with 175,000 on it.

Truthfully, until June of 2010, we've only had to do basic maintenance on both -- tires, brakes, oil changes, etc. and the required 50K timing belt changes.

In June, I had to dump $2K into my Elantra -- radiator stuff including bad puffs of smelly white smoke out of the tailpipe. The hubs had to put $1200 into his Nissan this month during inspection because of some kind of shock thing breaking apart in the rear.

However, no matter how you look at it, $2K and $1200 is a lot less than new vehicles.

2000 Honda Odyssey (we got in New in the Fall of 99, but it was a 2000 model). Still ticking, we did just have to put about $1500 into for the first time this year. 180K in Miles on it.

2004 Honda Civic...not sure on the miles on it...but over 100K....new teen driver drives this now.

We just purchased a loaded 2008 Honda Odyssey with 34K miles on it. Yes...we are a two mini-van family..haha. I just love the room and the ride...and the reliablity....so we did it again. Thankfully dh doesn't care what he drives....

Wow what an old thread.

Same car, 122K miles now. I did have to buy a headlight bulbs this past year :goodvibes I'm going to keep it until it dies then splurge on a new Mercedes (c class - the cheap one! lol).

2000 Hyundai Elantra - 113K miles on it. I plan to keep it until we do the big move (3-5 years). it s a great car, no issues. I've spent less than $500 on repairs and the bulk of that was a tune up. The rest were bulbs/filters.

2004 Dodge Grand Caravan 87,357. Paid off next month and hope to continue driving it through 2013.

1993 town car, 188,000 miles and looks like it came out of the show room.

2005 Dodge Grand Caravan 267564 Paid off Purchased Used 25000 Miles
Tires & Oil We are having some problems with the doors not wanting to lock. I have to unplug the fuse for the computer to reset it for them to work.

1990 Nissan Axxess 228048 Paid off Purchased used
Air conditioner stop working.
We went to WDW in June 2010 using this car,(1036 Miles round trip) a couple of months after we return from WDW the AC stop working.

1984 Nissan 4X Truck 192518 Paid off Purchased used
Used for fishing & hunting

2000 Honda Civic LX 120K miles
2011 Toyota Rav4 165 miles (we saved for 5 years so we could buy it)

We just sold DH's 2000 Honda Civic EX with 150K miles

When we were buying the Rav 4 of course the salesman was trying to "up sell" us on everything from a sound system to back-up camera to all kinds of extended warranties. We told him that we are the people who keep cars 10 to 15 years. He asked if we were trading in a car and we told him about our cars (both 2000 Civics). We told him specifically about mine:
it's 11 years old, 4 accidents (only 1 my fault ;)), a bent frame so it pulls to the right, latest accident (not my fault) dents were banged out by DH with a crowbar because we don't have collision coverage, only 1 speaker works, the keyless locks don't work on all doors, there is literally a dead spider trapped in the tachometer - and that is the car we kept! He "got it" then and was happy to sell us the base model Rav 4 - I love my new car :yay:

2002 Honda Odyssey 102,000 miles (bought used in 2007, paid cash)
1995 Pontiac Transport 131,000 miles (bought used in 2001, paid cash)
1964 Ford Galaxie 67,000 miles (bought used in 1996, paid cash and rarely driven at all but it makes my DH happy to own it)

Our vehicle expenses total about $1,500 - $3,000 a year for all three vehicles, although that will change soon because DH is going to put some major $$ into his Galaxie when we pay our mortgage off next year.

We have a 2002 Olds Silhouette with 176,000 miles. About to replace it just because, but it's been great.

We had a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix with about 66,000 miles on it but we traded it in at the end of November.

New car is a 2010 Dodge Caravan (sore subject with my dh since the red Grand Prix was his!). That had 2500 miles when we got it & I think it has around 5000 on it now.

2005 GMC Envoy. It has about 70,000 on it. That was my daily driver before the van so now my dh takes it to/from work & puts on about 5-10 miles day on it.

1986 Pontiac Fiero, not sure how many miles are on it but I know it is just over 100K.

And I can't wait to trade in the van for a GM car again.

Honda Odyssey 2003 - not much maitenace, new tires & oil changes only 70,000 miles on it - my "mommy car":goodvibes

We have a '99 Chevy Malibu with 123,500 miles on it..Hoping it will last until Oct

We also have a '00 Pontiac Grand Prix with 98,000 miles

Me - 2008 Saturn Vue - 70,000 miles, bought it new in Feb. 08 - had 20 miles on it.

DH - 2006 Mazda 3 - 76,000 miles, also bought it new in October 05, almost paid off...:cool1: Told DH he is driving it until the wheels fall off or our son turns 16 and get his license...whichever comes first. :thumbsup2

2003 Subaru Forester - 155k+ - no major problems with it - love the brand! Will buy another Subaru when the time comes for sure.

I LOVE Subaru. I'm on my third. The first was a 1990 Loyale (lost it in an accident:guilty:) Second was a 1993 Impreza. One of the first Impreza's sold in my area. I drove that car for 13 years and 120K + miles. I made a giant mistake and decided to buy a 2006 Suzuki Forenza just because I wanted a new car. Worst car ever! So in 2008 I got rid of it (terrible in the snow and I did not feel safe) bought a 2008 Legacy with 10K miles on it. It now has 53K and no problems. I love, love, love my Subaru's.

I'm glad to see cars really last so long. We bough DS16 a 2002 Chevy Blazer with 103K miles on it. We're hoping it'll get him through college.

2001 Pontiac Montana van. It just turned 115,000 miles. We bought it new and haven't had a car payment in almost 6 years!! My plan is to keep it until both kids are out of college. That would be another 7 years. My husband and both kids say no way, but it's been good to me so I think it might make it. :)
