As you've probably already figured out, food is priority #1 for us on vacation. :teeth: I spent lots of time planning where we'd eat to satisfy the chosen ones.

My DS & I were just discussing our trip. Of course, the conversation led directly to food. He wants to know what day we're eating at Pat O's. Well, we weren't going to. :confused3 We already have dinner plans for every night, but cabana night. We're also having lunch @ HRC so we can take the backstage tour. But Pat O's is so good, don't you know? :rolleyes1 By the time we finally get there, we're going to have to eat 5 meals a day, or plan another trip soon. :p I guess we'll be seeing Spidey again in the near future. :wave2: Is my family the only one who goes on vacation with the sole purpose of eating like pigs? popcorn::

I agree! I feel that the restaurants are part of the vacation experience. We have reservations at Tchoup Chop for the evening on the day we arrive. And we'll have lunch at Mythos on the day we visit IOA. Since we'll be staying at RPR, I see a breakfast buffet at the Islands Dining Room at least once. For dinner, we'll wing it at the Citywalk restaurants. I'm thinking on trying Bubba Gump's one night. The other night will probably be either Margaritaville or Hard Rock Cafe.

We generally eat three meals a day, but I can see your dilemma with O'Bryans. Big time must do for us...actually we try and squeeze it in twice when we're down for a week.

Something we've done in the past is just gone to O'Bryan's and sat on the back patio, enjoy some hurricanes for a while, then maybe just order a bag of benies (sp?) or split those incredible crawfish etoufee nachos, just enough to get a taste, you know?

This is generally done after our "Epcot day," since we're feeling so stuffed from munching all day, but might need a little something between, say, five, six o'clock and bedtime.

I hear you on food on vacation! It's the same for us :goodvibes

We never gave it a second thought until we went on a vacation with horrible food choices and ended up ill. After that, vacation destinations need good food to go with it!

How many meals can I eat?
Answer: It depends when and where I eat!

At home I am usually on the run, so I usually skip breakfast. When I come back to the house, I have so much stuff to do that I may eat just enough to keep up going. I get hungry again at 9:00 or 10:00P.M., but I am to tired to cook again or to eat food that has been in the kitchen for more than 2 hours, so I go to bed hungry and tired. I weight about 125-130 pounds and now U know why.

When I go to the theme parks I enjoy the rides, but honestly the ride that I enjoy the most is the ride of eating food. I finally have the time to enjoy and eat food without running.

If it rains, I eat more than usual because the rains brings the temperature down a few degress and it is more comfortable to eat in a nice cool place than a place that you can hardly feel the air conditioner, or one that is hot, humid, full with sweating people, sunny and not comfortable.

I've decided to schedule more lunches to work in a few more restaurants. The problem that we have is that we like to save our best meals for dinner. As my DS said yesterday, "5 nights just aren't enough." :teeth:

We love dining on the patio at Pat O'Briens. Dinner out there can't be beat. I guess we'll have lunch there this trip, but lunch just won't be the same as dinner on the patio.

For us our vacation is all about the food and the parks. We have counter service meals very rarely tending to favour table services restaurants. We usually have a breakfast/early lunch and a meal in the evening. One year we did try three meals a day and found that we were unable to do this.

3-4 we love our food  I have breakfast, lunch, early dinner, then snacks for supper. We will be using teh all you can eat wristbands at USO ;)
Shame they dont sell 'all you can drink Margharitaville' wristbands

Do you make reservations or priority seatings for these restaurants?

For Emeril's or Tchoup Chop, reservations are almost mandatory. For all others, priority seating isn't necessary, but during summer or other busy periods, having a priority seating request can cut an hour wait to around 15 minute wait. If we stay off-site and are arriving during a busy period, we'll make a priority seating request in the morning at the information booth for an evening meal. If we are staying on-site, you are usually given priority seating without making a request by showing you're room key to the restaurant.
