Does cursing count as a second language? If so I'm in for 2.

Im very good at french....few years till fluent!!

I want to learn hebrew...i can speak enough to get by but my friends in israel are teaching me.

Fluent in English, Spanish, and Polish. I speak French too but not fluently.

I can count to 10 in over 20 languages:)

Besides English, I know a few words in spanish but I can't speak it that well.

I was near-fluent in Spanish thanks to a college instructor who spoke only Spanish during class; however, since I didn't have an opportunity to use the language since then, I've lost much of it. Sometimes I sneak over to the Spanish language section of the DIS to practice a bit.

I also studied one quarter of French, and can read a bit of Portuguese and Italian via the Spanish. And I can count to 12 in Norwegian.

French and ASL

I only speak English and I would like to learn something else. I'm trying to decide between Chinese and Japanese.

I want to learn Japanese I learned french and ASL basically through imersion so I was thinking about getting the rosetta stone software for Janpanese.

English... with a little bit of French.

I speak English and a small bit of German.popcorn::

I choose two. I know sign language and I can speak a little Japanese.

I used to be fluent in French and Japanese, and could hold my own with Spanish and Italian. Years of not using them has taken its toll . . . although I'm sure if I was thrown back into any of those languages it wouldn't take long to pick them back up.

Reminds me of a "joke" I hear is pretty common in Europe...

Q: What do you call someone who speaks 2 languages?
A: Bilingual

Q: What do you call someone who speaks 3 languages?
A: Trilingual

Q: What do you call someone who speaks just 1 language?
A: American

Which wouldn't be nearly a problem as soon as the rest of the world realizes that EVERYONE should speak English. And while we're at it - screw that whole metric thing, too. (Not many people know this, but the "metric system" is actually part of a Communist plot to confuse the US for tactical advantage)

French and English

I know some Japanese, Hawaiian, ASL, and now I am learning Portuguese, Cantonese, and Spanish. I've mentioned this many times... I grew up in Hawaii and growing up in a multiracial environment helped. It's just weird that I am more fluent in French rather than my own ethnic languages ("mother tongues"). :confused3

(I worked in the French Polynesia/international dept. of a Hawaii-based airline for a while, too.)

Only one, but I'm working on two (Spanish). :)

I had four years of French, and then repeated them in college, but remember none.

I took 7 years of Spanish (2 of 'em upper-level college courses), but would need to do some brushing up before I'd consider myself fluent again.

2....French and Spanish
