How many kids live on your block or street?

No children here. My subdivision is mostly retired people, the only kids here are visiting their grandparents. It's very quiet and the neighbors are all very nice.:)

My side of the street has 7 houses. Other than my kids the only other one under 18 is a boy who is in 9th gr. (about 14?). The other side of the street has a few more boys around my sons age. Unfortunately there are no girls my dd's age - although there is a house for sale so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. When my dd needs her friends we have to drive - luckily my son can just walk to his friends.

Growing up in NY we had tons of kids on our block of all ages. My parents are still there but they say they never see kids out playing anymore.

On my street- hmm there are about 24 houses-

41 kids. aged from 1-19.

Then the block below us has about the same amount.
We fill a school bus.

1- 1yr old
2- 6yr old
1- 9yr old
1- 11yr old (mine)
1- 12yr old
1- 13yr old

All Boys!!!

Now for a few weeks during summer one of our neighbors grandkids come,
1- 14 yr old Boy
&
1- 12 yr old GIRL!!! Good Lord, the drama that goes on with that!!:lmao: You would swear these boys never seen a girl before! :rotfl:

It's too hot and humid to play outside in the summer here, and often too cold in the winter. But on the days when the weather is good, kids are always outside here. We live at the end of a cul de sac, so kids love to play outside our house.

We live on a cul de sac. There are probably about 14 houses on it. One house has an girl going into HS who is NOT nice. House next door has two girls ages 10 and 5, we're really good friends with them.

Then there is a HS senior boy. My house has a 13 yr old boy and 4 yr old girl. A few houses down there are two kids who may be around 8th grade or freshman yr. My son says neither of the kids are on the bus stop so I have no idea where they go to school.

That's it. The street is always quiet. My kids play with the girls down the way, but my son spends most of his time doing his thing now. There are a couple kids a block over but one of them comes from a family that has caused a lot of problems in the neighborhood, plus their boy once chased mine home. grrrr

Apparently we moved into the quietest block in the area. Sucks. My neighbor's kids are out of town a lot this summer so my 4 yr old is going nuts. Plus our backyard has wasp issues, so going back there has been hard this summer(trust me we've looked around and can't figure where they're coming from!!). Kid's bored out of her skull.

Same here, except DF and I live in a condo development. :) There are probably 25 buildings on our road that each have 4 condo units, and there are no children. DF and I are 25 and 23, and we're the youngest people on our street - by far. :lmao:

24 houses on my block-

my daughter is 10
there are 3 high school kids
4- one year old kids...

that is it. No one for my daughter to play with- don't want her playing with high school kids!

16 year old boy
15 year old boy
15 year old girl
13 year old boy
12 year old boy
14 year old girl
10 year old twin boys
9 year old twin boys (Mine they are almost 10)
8 year old boy
9 year old girl
7 year old boy
6 year old girl
6 year old girl
5 year old boy
5 year old boy
4 year old boy
so Thats only the half of my street that encompasses about 16 house , I didn't count the other half.

So thats 14 boys
and only 5 girls!

we live on a short, dead-end street with only 4 houses. our DD12 is the only child on the street. the people across the street have 2 grandchildren (the oldest is 1 year younger than DD), but they rarely visit. the house next door is my in-laws, and the house down the road is a young man who hasn't married or had kids yet.

Lots and lots of kids! Most are in day camps during the summer as both parents work, but as soon as they get home, they play outside all afternoon and evening nearly every day. It's been a fun summer!

There are 4 kids on our street. DS (19 months), a 3 year old little girl, and two kids who are probably upper elementary school. There are a few other young kids on the next street over, but it seems like no one has been outside this summer (I can't blame them with the heat this summer!)

10 years ago there were 40 kids living in the 44 houses on my street.

Today there are 2, and only 5 of the houses have changed owners in that time, the kids have all grown up and moved away.

They have also closed the nearest elementary school, not enough kids.

Paper just did a story saying the largest number of people over age 85 live in my zip code. We also have the highest rate of death from natural causes, and the highest death rate from cancer. And not sure what this means, but there are more apartment units than any other zip code....AND the largest number of people who have owned their homes for 40 years or more.

Welcome to Carmichael, California.

We had 75 kids on three small streets in our neighborhood, but most of the time the area was empty.

Where are they all?

Inside playing video games and watching tv.

Sad. I remember my neighborhood and everyone outside playing all the time.

We live in a small subdivision of 120 homes that were all built in 1996-1997. Although I don't know how many kids there are in all the different age groups I do know that there are 7 eighth graders (3 girls and 4 boys) and 6 sixth graders (1 boy and 5 girls). And the only reason I know that is because they all went to grade school together and now they're all in middle school together. Every year the parents all get together and figure out which kids are in which before or after school activities and work out driving schedules among us. It's kind of fun, we get to know all our kids' peers and it can be very enlightening to overhear their conversations as we parents do the car-pool thing.

Every year we parents would walk our kids to the bus stop on the first day of school and each year there would fewer and fewer kids waiting for the elementary school bus. When we first moved in our neighbor's son had just started kindergarten and now he's getting ready to go away to college. This will be my first year of not wlaking to the bus stop since DD is starting 6th grade.

Too MANY!

Just kidding.

Although the only two I can tolerate are my adorable neighbors, boy and girl.

There are three girls on the corner, a bunch down the street of both genders, and many many boys down the street the other way, and a few babies and toddlers everywhere.

I keep hearing how bored other people's kids are. My kids are out playing with the neighbors everyday. The other night all the kids were playing red rover. It brought back memories of playing ghost in the graveyard when I was growing up.
We have 24 houses on between both sides of the street. Since none of the kids go to the neighborhood school. They play together since they don't know any other kids.

1- 1yr. gir1
2- 5 yr boys
1- 2nd grade boy
2- 4th grade girls
4-5th graders ( 2boys/2 girls)
1- 6th grade girl
2-7th grade boys
2-8th grade boy

Total-15 kids

10 houses on our street
1-4th grade girl
1- just graduated high school girl (or maybe she's a senior, I'm not sure)
1-3rd grade girl
1-2nd grade boy
1-high school freshman girl
1-high school junior boy
1 4th grade boy
1 7th grade girl

there are maybe 20 houses on our street, but the street is about 4 miles long. The kids mostly play with the kids in their section of the street. It's very rural, no sidewalks or lights, basically one lane that was only paved about 5 years ago. Because it's very curvy the parents don't let the kids go to far on foot until they're older. There's probably about 20 kids total, from toddler thru age 21, along the total length of the road.

There is one house with 2 kids and they almost never come out to play. That's it.

The other side of the horseshoe has a small handful of kids. 2 of them are friends with mine, the rest of them don't come out or we don't know.

About 2 blocks away there is a large cul-de-sac with a lot more kids but I don't let my kids down there for a variety of reasons. I miss living on post with tons and tons of kids.

There are 35 houses on my street and around 70 kids under 18. Love living on a vibrant, lively street :)
