If you learned basic math (which you must have, because your weren't busy learning the metric system :) ) then you can do it! If you can multiply & divide by 10's, you can handle it! No lessons here, but all the names make sense & it's just so easy. :) It's the converting back forth that's tricky.

I use hung & dove too!

As a college prof, I am sometimes amazed at the answers I get to what I 'THINK" are general knowledge questions.

In a frosh seminar I once asked students to write about how WWI started (and its relation to WWII)......the priceless answer: It was started by a guy with a gun. I supposed it was, basically, correct!

More recently my husband asked this question on a psychology History and Systems exam: What was the "Golden Age" of Greece, and what factors are thought to have been responsible?Answer from TWO students: "One of the factors that led to the Golden Age of Greece was the Protestant Reformation"

FYI - the Golden Age of Greece started in the 6th century B.C. - I wonder what all those Protestants were doing back then?

I do tell students that if I get a good belly laugh from their answer it IS worth 1 point!!!!

My DD 12 just woke up and I asked her these questions, she got them all right, she said, "Dad, who doesn't know these?"
Whew, makes me feel better! :D

I have a history test on Monday. A 3 chapter test. :earseek: History never was my thing...this will be a nightmare. My professor in pre-algebra is no help. His thing is...you learned this somewhere along the line. Yeah! In 7th and 8th grade over 30 years ago! So I suppose I'll be teaching myself Scientific Notation, because he's skipping it in class.
