As a college prof, I am sometimes amazed at the answers I get to what I 'THINK" are general knowledge questions.
In a frosh seminar I once asked students to write about how WWI started (and its relation to WWII)......the priceless answer: It was started by a guy with a gun. I supposed it was, basically, correct!
More recently my husband asked this question on a psychology History and Systems exam: What was the "Golden Age" of Greece, and what factors are thought to have been responsible?Answer from TWO students: "One of the factors that led to the Golden Age of Greece was the Protestant Reformation"
FYI - the Golden Age of Greece started in the 6th century B.C. - I wonder what all those Protestants were doing back then?
I do tell students that if I get a good belly laugh from their answer it IS worth 1 point!!!!
