How many hours do you have to be enrolled in to apply for the DCP?

I have searched for an answer to this question and all I can find is that you must be a full or part time student to apply for the DCP. And maybe the answer is obvious, but before enrollment happens later this month, I just want to check to make absolute certain -- can I apply if I'm only enrolled in one credit hour of classes? Does that count as part time?

If anyone here knows, I'd love to hear for sure.

It depends what your school considers to be part-time. Disney just needs to make sure you're enrolled. Your school/advisor is the one that you should check with! You have to be in good-standing with them to be able to go. Hope that helps!

I called the school I will enroll in, and the person Disney would talk to to check on me said that educators don't like to use the term "part time" because it's a muddy definition. They think of it as full time, part time (6 hours) or another term that is under 6 hours that of course I promptly forgot! So he said I should check with the program to see what they consider part time. If I'm just enrolled in one hour then yes, I'd be a student, but it's up to Disney if that counts as part time!

I found an email (wdw.college.recruiting@disney) so I'm about to try that.

(And just in case you're wondering why I only want to take one hour - I am 47 and already have a degree. I just want to enroll in as few hours as possible just so I can be eligible and participate in the program.)

To apply, you must have already done one semester of college regardless if you took one class. Also, you need to be enrolled in college/classes when applying to the DCP.

Hi. Okay so exactly what does that mean? My school doesn't recognize the Disney internship even though they are listed on the website when you go to apply so I guess its up to me to figure this out. I have been a student for a few semesters but I am taking Summer off and going back in the Fall for 6 credit hours or more. If I apply for Spring is that okay? It sounds like it is but then I'm not sure because the mentor I go through doesn't know about the internship.

You can apply during your first semester of college. My daughter's best friend in the college program last year applied during his first semester as a freshman (in the Fall of 2012).

When you say, "before enrollment happens later this month" do you mean college or Disney Internship application?
I've heard people mentioning taking just one class to get into Disney, but I don't know if you have to be matriculated into a program or just a student of a college.

I meant at my college. I finally talked to a Disney recruiter on the phone and she said as long as I was enrolled, I was eligible. I also asked if I had to have already chosen a major and/or be in a program and she said no, I just needed to be enrolled.

That's good news DawnMichele! Do you plan on staying in Disney housing? I think it's an awesome idea to work for Disney. You look like you have the Disney spirit they are looking for.
