How many home resorts is too many?

I have two home resorts, BLT and AUL (160 pts and 220 pts) and am considering adding on. Would having a third home resort be too much (ie awkward or a nuisance during booking) at this level of points? I'm considering adding on at BLT and would have to buy this planned small add on direct, so am understandably wondering if it would be possible to instead add on at a cheaper resort, such as SSR. I don't believe I'll need the home resort booking priority at either BLT or SSR, so that isn't a consideration.

Thoughts from any veterans?

as long as all contracts are under the same UY month and titled the same, they should be combined under one membership. if all contracts are under one membership and you never book more than 7 months out, you are good to go.

you should be able to add-on by buying a resale contract - historically, DVC has combined resales (subject to UY and names on the title as above) under one membership.

(just understand that if you have 160 BLT pts and 100 SSR pts and want to book BLT at 11 months out, pts from your SSR contract are unavailable for booking. it's like you don't even have an SSR contract at that point.)

I have 3: VGC, Aulani, and SSR. I do wish instead of the SSR resort we would have bought more VGC or Aulani to be able to get larger rooms at 11 months. Of course it was nice to pay about half the cost per point for SSR but I see us selling that one soon.
I know many people have several home resorts but I have been able to get what I want at 7 months so far and not have to buy in to a resort.

if you truly do not need the 11 month home resort, then you can add a resale SSR or any other resort cheaper than buying direct. But I would highly recommend keeping the same use year.

I'm considering adding on at BLT ... I don't believe I'll need the home resort booking priority at ... BLT
Then why do you want to add on there?

We have 3 AKV, VGC and VCF. I wished for ages instead of buying a AKV contract we have bought half AKV half BLT but our VGF now gives us 11 months advantage on the monorail so we are content now and have no desire for any more

By having multiple resorts, the average of dues cost came out lower than one specific resort, and we rotate usage to keep it interesting. I like the juggling challenge (for now, by the time they expire, it may become tedious).

We went through our must have period when we had difficulty booking at 7 months. Now we own BCV, BWV, VWL, AKV, BLT, and VGF.

Although we don't need the booking advantage for SSR that is exactly where I would want to buy for our 3rd resort. Best value with a decent end date. Plus we really do like it there.

I love having 11 booking advantage for BLT and BCV because they are so desirable and smaller but a lot of times we really like staying at SSR and OKW.

I agree strongly about keeping the same UY to combine points at 7 months. Why make it harder than it needs to be?

A long as you feel you have enough BL t points for any home resort booking and the SSR points would simply supplement at 7 months, then there really is no disadvantage that I can see.

Too many is one more than you can afford or manage. That number is different for everyone.

We own at SSR, VWL & BCV. It does mean juggling at the 7 month window and at times a split stay. Although we love the savings SSR MFs have given us, there are times I wish I only owned at two resorts. At your point level you should not have this problem unless you vacation in a 2B.

As many as you can afford, manage and have time for :)

I would just stick with the same UY.

Good Luck!
