How many have booked your vacation 2 years early?

I am thinking about booking my vacation for July of 2005 so I can pay a bit toward it each month. How many of you have done this and how did it work out for you?

Well, I can say I haven’t quite done it two year in advance. We stayed at the Swan in 2002. I wanted to make sure I received the teacher rate so I called in July of 2001, a full year in advance. I felt kind of funny calling that far in advance, but the more I read on these boards, it’s not so uncommon.

I think it’s a great idea. I know if it was me, I wouldn’t be able to save for 2 full years. I’m two spend thrifty. We tend to find the money somehow before our trip and have a fabulous time.

We planned our millenium trip for Christmas 1999 in 1990 - my father was a little eager! You can definitely do it and pay it down as it gets closer. Worked out great for us!

we booked our 10th anniversary trip 2 years ago (for Sept 2008) & are paying it off each year - and will apply any discounts/codes that may come available during that summer prior to arrival
