Had a hilarious conversation with my husband last night. He's been getting quite excited about the new Fantasyland Expansion, though I'm being careful about oversharing because I know he likes surprises.
Last night I showed him a review of the pork shank from Gaston's Tavern, and said we'd definitely have to stop and have some as pork's his favourite meat. Then I mentioned I'd like to have some of the flavoured apple juice - LeFou's Brew - in a souvenir cup.
"And I'll have a beer," he says, happily.
"Uh, no... there's just the apple juice."
"No, I mean I'll have a beer in the Tavern."
"The only place they sell alcohol in the Magic Kingdom is at Be Our Guest, and only at the dinner service, and I couldn't get ressies this year. We'll have to go to one of the other parks if you want a drink."
He was surprised. "Really? How can they call it a Tavern if they don't sell beer?"
"It's a pretend Tavern?"
The conversation has me wondering now how many guests will be wandering into Gaston's Tavern over the next few months and wondering where the beer's hiding.
Especially the ones who've been to the Hog's Head Pub in the Three Broomsticks at Universal, and are expecting something similar!
