How Many From Michigan??

Another Michigander here!

We (dh and I) were born and raised in Monroe County, we still live here. :)

We also have a place in northern Michigan, or as Kid Rock says, "North of Detroit, south of heaven".

I am still waiting to run into Kid Rock and Uncle Kracker in the local bar by our cabin. Dh has been informed, he will need to go home alone. :rotfl: :earseek: :rotfl:

CrazedDisFan where abouts "up north" is your cabin?

Hey, DisneyMomFan~ I'm in Saline too! Wow! I thought I was all alone out here "in the country!" :flower:

You guys are so lucky to live near the Somerset Collection mall! It's about an hour away from me, but I'd totally go there for a DIS meet! Just name the time and place! :flower:

It's been almost a week since anyone has posted.

I'm getting closer to booking my ADR's or what ever Disney is calling them now. LOL

Trying to keep this thread going.

Me too. I used to not worry to much about PS or ADR until a few weeks before or even at WDW depending on where we wanted to go and when the trip was. However with the new dining plan I am concerned a lot of palces will fill up since many people who wouldn't normally be doing TS resturants will. We don't have the dining plan, we have DDE and AP. I really hope DVC gets the dining plan too.

Now that we are dealing with food alleriges also (milk and eggs) I need to mention that with the ADR anyway, so we need to plan ahead as it is.

We will be there Jan 4th to 11th 2006, most likely at SSR. I am waiting to see if some friends want to come with us, then we will stay at AKL. :cheer2:

Wow there sure are alot of Michiganders on here. Just found this thread.

We live in Macomb Township. Grew up in Taylor then moved to Warren, onto Sterling Heights and now in Macomb.

We rent a cabin on Burt Lake each summer in July. We have to do at least one Michigan vacation - so that's it!

Just got back from the DVC Member's Cruise and 5 nights at WDW. Will be back in December for a week at Christmas (first time going during Christmas week - what are we thinking!) Girls trip in March - first time going without dh and the kids.

Thanks for the heads up on AllegianTAir - looks like I was the last to find out about them :teeth: Looking for Airfare for March and Spirit is pushing the $500 mark - don't think so! I'll wait and check flying out of Lansing.

I work at a public library in Zeeland (30 minutes south west of Grand Rapids). One night, I was helping a patron find books on Disney Cruises --and since I'm a Disney nut, I can't just stop with helping them find the books. I had to share lots of other info. with her as well. I asked her if she ever went online to look up information. When she said that she could, I immediately suggested the DisBoards to her. As I was writing the website down for her to take home, another patron who was at an internet terminal turned and suggested the DisBoards to her also. It turns out she's also a member here! When she told me what her screen name was, I recognized it -- but I don't think she's on this thread.

So, count her in for living in Zeeland. :goodvibes

Burt Lake is really nice. The last time I was there I camped at the state park-really nice. My Aunt used to have a place on Mullett(she just sold last year). I remember when there was hardly nothing in Indian River-now look at it. Have you ever gone to the Pinney(aka Pinehurst Inn)? My aunt and uncle used to own it years ago-I loved visiting them in the summer and staying above the bar. They had some awesome burgers :cloud9:.

I'm glad to see that there are other disney-aholics here in the north :grouphug: .

I have my Lion King tickets for opening night at the Wharton- anyone else going opening night?

Indian River actually has a McDonald's & Burger King - never thought we would see that. I'm not sure of the name of the reataurant we go to but I think it starts with a V - something like Vivinos????

Nice area and close to Petosky, Harbor Springs, Charlevoix & Mackinac - which we visit while we're there.
