How many Floridians have DVC?

Just curious...let's have a count of how many Floridians are actually on these boards with DVC. We are from Davie, FL and joined last year.

Well, I'm a fellow South Floridian here and I'm going to be a DVC member this year! At least, that's my goal.

We're in Jacksonville. Bought in 2001 added on in 2002 and adding on again next week. We got the bug bad..

We bought in 1999 when we were living in CT. We moved to Bradenton (SW FL, ~40 miles S of Tampa) last year, however just purchased another resale at OKW.

Kids still love Disney, and staying several days on-site (maybe with relatives visiting) is still a thrill for them. But now we drive, instead of fly. Really got alot of use out of the annual passes this year, especially counting a few weekend days with trips to the water parks.

We have a split residence and bought in 2001 - VWL and VB. Bought VB for a nice escape from Disney since we live just down the street.

Next week we'll have been members for 6 years! We bought at OKW and have added on there once - then added on at VB twice.

We live east of Tampa - takes us approximately 56 minutes to get to OKW, but who's counting?!?

You better plan on an add-on (or two), because those inevitable weekend trips are going to eat up your points!!

11 years members, 6 years Floridians.

But I still mantain that Floridians, maybe its South Floridians, aren't really quite as bright as the rest of the country. Things are different down here. The roads are much more dangerous and the politicians are WAY more crooked.

35 years of living in New York, I witnessed, actually watched happen, two accidents. I have witnesses nine down here.

When we first got here, the mayor of Miami was being arrested, the chief of police and about ten other government official.

Florida does have its up side. Its real nice doing business so close to the United States.

Been in St.Pete Beach for 3 years, VWL owners since Nov.02 and added on once already! Being so close any excuse to head over will work for me.(which explains the quick add-on!)Richyams you couldn't be any more right on-I drove for 25 years in Chicago and never had a ticket or accident and have been hit 3 times in 3 years here.As for politics-the things I have seen right here on the beach make Chicago look tame.

We bought into DVC in 1992 while living in Ocean Grove, New Jersey. Currently, we live in Sarasota after making the BIG MOVE down South in 2001. We have added on twice (OKW) since our 1992 purchase. We love being close to WDW and actually make the trip over for just Dinner occasionally!
The down side is that we have to use our points carefully----it is very tempting to say" let's go over for a few nights". Thank goodness for Priceline and some GREAT Hotel discounts that we find.
I totally agree with Richyams and snwwht---I can't believe the driving around here!!!! I commuted up and down the Garden State Parkway and NJ Turnpike for years and NEVER saw the likes of the drivers down here---and I thought I saw EVERYTHING in those commuting years!!!!!!!! Thanks goodness it rarely SNOWS here-----

3 hours away in SW Florida - bought DVC 6 years ago and currently hold 13 contracts....with #14 planned for the near future.

I was a FL resident when I bought dvc and expect to be a FL resident when I die - just can't beat the convenience of driving to wdw for frequent trips!

We live in NM, but plan to be Florida residents within the next six years. Richyams, FL sounds just like NM. Guess we'll feel right at home. I think NM leads the nation in DWI-related accidents. Diana

Hi I have been a member since 99, HH and BCV and I hail from Miami, Florida aka the Redlands. I live far south about 250 from Disney but compared to others that is close.

Members here from Jupiter since 2000.

(I know I have Hartford, CT below my name. That's only because our jobs went up there just after we bought. Hopefully we'll be able to live in Jupiter year round as soon as the job market gets better.)

Bought in 1994 when we lived in Massachusetts. Move to Miami in August 2002 now only 3 hrs away. Nice to go when we like especially those Sun through Thursdays.
