How Many Firsts Can We Achieve? ~ Oct. 2012 PTR

Hello! I am back and so excited that I can't help but create a PTR ... even if no one reads it

I do have my first TR that is completed HERE if you're interested in reading.

Now then ... who am I? I'm glad you asked!

I am Kris (25); Wife, Planner & Disney Lover​

And coming with me on our planned trip is;

Jon (26); Husband & Disney Lover​

We both work in customer service; Jon works for a storage company and I work as a reservation agent for United Airlines.

Let me tell you, this trip is going to be A LOT of firsts for us! We have been to WDW twice already but there is still so much we haven't done! I think that's part of the reason why we enjoy Disney so much ... you can go every year of your life and still find a first for you to do.

So, the basic plan for our trip:

Who: Me & Jon
Where: Art of Animation & Port Orleans Riverside
When: October 24th - 30th
Why: To experience Disney World in October!

Our main focus is the Food & Wine festival and we also have tickets for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party for Oct. 28th

There's still a lot in the works though and this is where I'll be venting my excitement, offering up my ideas and getting feedback, and generally obsessing over the upcoming trip

Okay, so I, like all of you, am REALLY excited about our trip, there are SO MANY things that I want to do and already have planned. This is where I'll be keeping my tedious planning. Not only does it help me put my excitement somewhere, but I would also appreciate feedback

Of COURSE we have to dress up for MNSSHP!

We're constantly throwing around ideas for our costume. We decided to make it somewhat simple and use things we already have or can get cheap. So our halloween costumes will be ... Cats! Lol yes, we're going to dress up like kitties ^_^

Got my wig, need to improve on it a bit ...

So, the wig is a bit shorter than I thought it would be. It hangs well on the styrofoam head and on DH's head (had to test it out! lol) but on me, it looks like carrot top!
I think it has to do with me having rather long hair and that makes the wig perch on my head a bit odd.

I'm planning on buying the merida wig for kids to see if that would work OR see if it's close to this wig I bought ... maybe I could combine the two ...

I miss working for the airlines and getting free flight benefits. I wish I would have taken advantage of them more then I did. I did however lose my desire to fly after working 8 years in the flight operations tower. ((It's best I not talk about that. )) Your ADR's look great. Sounds like you have an awesome trip planned. We'll be arriving a couple weeks after you and we'll be staying at POR for the first time as well. We've been to WDW 8 times and have a ton of firsts to experience on this trip! I can't wait!

Yeah, I just barely started so I really haven't had a chance yet. It's weird though, not being able to have an EXACT seat. Slightly stressfull while planning.

Well, we have added an extra day to our itinerary! Doing some research right now to arrive in on the 24th instead of the 25th ^_^

We're also thinking about changing our costume. My dress is rather heavy and if we're flying on standby, we're going to need all the room in our luggage we can spare (not checking our bags!).

We have these cute pj's I'm thinking we might use instead ...

Updated our ADR, we have changed our Ohana dining time to 10:50am from 8:25am, that way we can 'sleep in' a bit before the breakfast ^_^

Also updated my Firsts list. We've NEVER seen Wishes! This year I'm not sure we'll be able to (depending on if I can score a special room or not) but we will be able to see the HalloWishes.

Still working on what resort we'll be staying at for the 24th. Will keep you (or anyone reading ... if anyone is) posted!

Okay so, starting Monday I'll be off to London for a few days!

Hopefully I won't miss too much while I'm gone ..

Oh yes, we got our Disney documents but we have yet to figure out where we are going to stay for our 1st night. We may have to cave and do a value resort (not AoA, all the mermaid rooms are sold out )

We did it! We added an extra day AND were somehow able to manage a Little Mermaid room at AoA!!

SO! We've changed our plans

We are no longer spending a whole day at WWoHP because we budgeted and it cost almost $500!! Yeah, too much for one day.
So we've moved it around for epcot on Thursday, got rid of 1900 park fare and added MK and AK on friday (with yak & yeti)

Yeah ... fun stuff!

We decided that, while we very much want to go to WWoHP, we'll just make a vacation there after all the expansions are done

I'd really like to know the secret for people reading PTRs and TRs Lol I guess I'm boring!

Well I'd just like to post a "To-do" list that I still have:
* Sew fur cuffs & tail for Jon
* Sew ankle cuffs for me
* Buy nail stuff for costume
* Buy black lipstick
* Get work shifts covered for trip
* Budget
* Create gameplan for MNSSHP & Animal Kingdom
* Get people to keep me company on this PTR
* Take photo of completed costumes and post on PTR

Wednesday I'm thinking about working on the sewing. Still waiting for some of the days for my shift to be covered. Hoping that tomorrow we can work on a budget ^_^ We should also be getting items ordered for our halloween costumes late this week or next week

Whew! Almost done with my 'To Do' list ^_^

Yesterday I finished all the sewing and got our packages in the mail for the last pieces of our costumes. So, next step is to post them for you to see! First I need to figure out how I'll be styling my hair for it though.

And does anyone actually read this? If so, I'd very much appreciate a shout ^_^

Those are the only things I really have left to do and the gameplan won't happen until Fri/Sat during our trip. I figured it would be best to find out what we ride in MK and if we ride everything we want while there, we will only have to ride 2 rides during MNSSHP: Space Mountain and Haunted Mansion (at night!).

As for the last two ... well, I'm not going to bother with the costumes and photos before the trip cause really no one cares nor reads, so, really no point.

Oh yes and I forgot to mention ... we almost didn't make this trip.

Jon's work is being ... well ... lets just say he's going to be looking for a new job in a bit. No he's not fired but they are ... yeah. Not good. He's got the time off approved, no problem there, it would have been a money issue ... thank goodness it's not!

THEN my work gave me a doosie (how is that spelt?). I need to be trained in a specific skill for work (along with some other people) and they were SUPPOSE to train us in the end of September and then kept changing the dates. I was assured by my supervisor that training would not take place during my trip, so keep planning. So we did and everything is paid for. Low and behold, last Saturday I got an email saying that my training is the 24th & 25th of October. Uh, no. We leave the 24th!
My supervisor was told wrong and she is uh ... yeah she's giving them hell for switching the dates. Mostly cause it's not just me but a lot of other people and it's crazy. I mean, what are we going to do, sit on the edge of our seats and not live? No.

Anywho, there was a chance that we couldn't even go OR I would have to miss a few days of my vacation due to training. But no, because I've been dedicated and hard working (as per my supervisor's words), she's going to duke it out with the training people and allowing me to go on my vacation

YAY!

NOW I just have to deal with my neck/shoulders locking up on me due to all the stress. It's getting slightly better and I hope it will be better by the time Wednesday comes around.

AND if anyone actually is reading this, I would very much appreciate prayers/good thoughts/good luck from you because we need it for our flights on Wednesday!
