As I was doing my 4 mile WATP today, I wondered if I was an oddity or if others exercise on holiday's just like every other day. Or do most take a holiday on the holiday?

For me it's every day on a schedule. I adapt distance and intensity to match periodization schedule and whether I am home or visiting.

My DW challenges much like Clark in Christmas Vacation, "This is what Crritsmas is all about. I'll uh park the cars and uh, I'll be outside for the season."

I admit I took today off :sad2: but I did work out yesterday (and am feeling it today). Plus we had dinner at 1 o'clock, so I had to start cooking early. But I did get some exercise-DD got a Wii for Christmas and we spent most of the day playing that!!! Tomorrow I have to work a temp job, so I dont know that I will get a run in tomorrow morning. But I am back on track after that!!!

I spent a great deal of time running around cleaning and cooking that I really over did it today. My back is killing me. But all the relatives are just about gone except for the dn who is staying the night.

Usually on the holidays I find it convenient to steal some time for my exercise since I am not having to be at work all day. This time I was hosting our holiday events so those w/o dreams were just that. I'm back with it all now though.

Keep on keepin' on.
:cheer2:

This year, I intended to exercise on both Thanksgiving and Christmas, but I only got around to it for Christmas. Even then, I exercised late in the day, after getting back from my in-laws' place.

I find that my day feels like it's really missing something if I don't exercise. There are certainly days when I don't get around to it, but then the whole day feels kind of "off".

I didn't take off for the holidays, and won't take off for New Year's either. I really need to stay as consistant as possible to keep the weight off. I didn't worry too much about losing this month, but exercising helped me to maintain what I have lost so far. I will say that some days I just don't reach my ideal of 60 minutes, but I always try to do at least 30 minutes of exercise (usually walking) every day.

Usually, it is easier for me to exercise on holidays than ordinary days unless I am on call. Both Christmas and Thanksgiving, as a matter of a fact, I was able to do extra time to make up for another time I had to miss my work out. Both days I did two 45-50 minute sessions. Usually, I do 45-50 minutes a day, but will miss if I am travelling out of town or are totally occupied for the evening, like when we had our office party or when my son had his Christmas program at school.

I exercised faithfully leading up to the holidays and workout on Christmas Eve. I didn't do any formal workout Christmas day because there simply wasn't any time. But the day after I was back at it.
