How Many DVC'ers out there are Parrotheads?

ParrottHead. We love it so much we are having a luau based on this exact state of mind. It's a LUAU! We are so excited. The weather says rain but we don't care. None of us are made out of sugur. Besides after a few of those fancy drinks:crazy: who cares. :wave2: princess:

best time ever wearing a uniform, back at the ranch, forget the year, i was the sergeant on the detail for the concert and the easthampton pd captain had us assigned to work the backstage area, and front stage of the vip area

LOVE Buffett!

Barefoot Children and One Particular Harbour are my favorites. But of course I love Pirate Looks at Forty, It's My Job, Son of a Son of a Sailor, He Went to Paris, Lone Palm....the list goes on and on.

We own at Old Key West where we seem to fit right in! :)

So how Buffetted is OKW? OKW is the one DVC resort I hadn't planned on wanting to stay at. But if you stay there and think you're in Margaritaville, I may have to rethink that.

count us in, my dh and i are definatly parrotheads. missed the concert this year, had to work (should of called out sick). there is nothing like a buffett concert. once in a while at work someone will play a buffett cd and i stand there and sing in a fake microphone they all think im crazy but i tell them if we werent all crazy we would all go in sane! fav songs are in no order
one particular harbor
changes in latitude
pirate looks at 40
son of a sailor

of coarse margaritaville
we own at bcv but did stay once at okw and loved it.

Here is a picture below from Jimmy Buffet's restraunt Margaritaville in Las Vegas, when we were there 2 weeks ago.It is a really neat place and has great hamburgers.

Although DW and I are not DVC members yet, we are definetely looking into buying at OKW, as I am a true Conch (born in Key West). We have the good fortune to be living in the ATL and haven't missed a JB show in the last 8 yrs. Back when he was doing two shows here a year we made it to both, I even (now ladies don't get too mad) went to the show the night my wife went into labor with DD (Delaney). I don't think I can pick a favorite album, Favorite songs would have to include"

Delaney Talks to Statues,
Smart Woman in a Real Short Skirt
Death on an Unpopular Poet (or Popular Poet)
Meet me in Memphis
Tin Cup Chalice

DD loves the Parakeet Album, if you have kids it is worth the money to take on long trips.

The new Cheeseburgers in Paradise are a joint venture partnership with Jimmy and Outback Steakhouse. There are 5 open now with plans to open 25 in 2005. They can't go close to Maragritavilles though due to non competes. So Orlando wont see one. Tampa finally has been approved, which is Ouback's headquarters.

Gee, you would think that they would identify more with Jimmy especially if they aren't going to compete in the same areas.

Definate Michigan Parrothead here! Just hoping and praying JB adds Detroit to his tour list.

"Why don't we get drunk..."

Hope you don't mind a non-DVCer chiming in but I couldn't resist when I read the post.pirate:
My DH and I are parrotheads from way back(these pirates are looking too close to fifty)pirate: I grew up in Pascagoula, MS where JB was born and lived for a while and went to school with a few ( he has a lot) of his cousins. Now I live in Jackson, MS, where Fingers Taylor (remember him from the band?) is from and I met one time a long time ago.
:hyper:
I enjoy all of JB's music, especially the ones where he refers to relatives and the coast where he grew up. It brings back memories of growing up on the beach watching the shrimp boats, sand in your food and drinks, volleyball, and watching submarine races(does anyone know what that is?)
I try to catch concerts when he is close by, which is not too often unfortunately.:(
Love the knew CD, LTC. My fav on that one is Back to the Island, the old Leon Russell tune( like JB's version better).
Again hope you don't mind me horning in on your fun.
:wave2:

Never seen JB in concert, but do enjoy his music. Bought his latest cd, enjoy his other music much more (not a "country" music person). christmas cd is fun during the holidays.

Sure, now we find out OKW plays Jimmy music! We bought into SSR! Once DH finds out (he's the parrothead), he'll try to find a way for us to move over there! He has Jimmy music on his iPod, and plays it in his office often. We took him to Cheeseburger in Paradise (in Lombard) for Father's Day, it felt appropriate! He was upset there wasn't more Jimmy "presence" there, tho' we did hear a Jimmy song while we were eating.:wave2:

I just found this thread!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!

Parrothead from Georgia here!!!!!!! BUT, not a DVC member. :(

Wish I was though.........

Kind of applies to Disney fans as well!

If you don't understand, try a bit of mental floss! ;)
