How many DVC folks have used or always use DME?

Yeah - he doesn't like to wait for anything. He gets off the plane, rushes to the "monorail", rushes (leaving me waaaaay behind) to the Magic Express where it all squeals to a halt and he has to stand and wait. And if we happen to be going to a resort that not a lot of other people are going to then sometimes people in other lines get called to load their bus before our line goes. Then once we are on the bus he doesn't like it if our resort is not the first one we stop at. I used to keep reminding him that if we were driving we wouldn't even be out of Illinois yet - but that didn't do any good - so I just ignore him now.

We always use it. We used Mears bus before it became free.

they make everything so easy and saves on a car rental
if you are staying on property for the duration of you trip

One of my favorite parts about ME is giving the luggage to the luggage people when you get out of your car (we have a small airport in Rochester) and not carrying or seeing it again until it’s in your room.

We always use it. We typically do not leave the property, so no need for a rental car. We did rent a car once because we met some friends there and DH went deep sea fishing with friend's DH and I and friends took the kids to KSC. Even then I took the kids on DME and DH rented the car. It's part of the experience for us.

We are planning a 2 week trip there next may and are planing on going to SW and US, so we ill be renting a car that trip.

Everytime. Just too easy to pass up and if we need to leave (SeaWorld etc.) we've taken the bus. That wasn't the best, but it got the job done.

Okay I think I have been persuaded to FINALLY GIVE IN and try it. What do we have to lose right?!!! Now to go and read the STICKY on the transportation board on how to set it all up.

Wife and kids use it while I rent a car at MCO and meet them. We mostly use it because I don't want to mess with luggage claim. We use car back to MCO at end of trip which allows us to take a late flight and enjoy a full last day.

We always use DME, and never use the luggage tags. We pick up the one suitcase we bring for the 2 of us ($25.00 per bag nowadays to check it on the plane, so we bring half the amount, and do laundry halfway through our trip), pick up the bag ourselves and head for DME. That way we have our luggage, and don't have to wait the hours it takes to get it from DME.
On return, we check the bag when we do check in for our airline at the resort.

Every now and then, we'll use a taxi for resort to resort transportation.

I totally agree!! We have a small airport as well. DH and I love to wave good-bye to our luggage when we check in. Our ME is the "Happy Bus" on the way there, and then the "Sad Bus" on the way home.

We always use DME. It is cost-effective for us. One of the best things we like about Disney is not having to drive while we are there.

We always use it and love it! We usually come into MCO early and the bus has never been crowded.

We use ME just about every trip. We love the convenience of the luggage service and leaving the driving to them! We generally don't mind using WDW transportation around the parks and have had very few issues waiting for busses, etc.

That said, we have had a rental car for a few days during our last two visits, and liked being on our own transportation schedule - it had been a long time since we had a car on property - sort of forgot how freeing it is.

We do both depending on the trip. This past trip, friends drove down, while I flew. There have been times when we've all flown and rented a car and there have been times when we've flown and took DME.

And even thought Southwest is now part of of DME, we will still continue to pick up our luggage and take it with us on the bus (it's a control thing).

We have always used it when we have flown! It was best in the early days when they showed Disney cartoons during the ride. Now you are a captive audience on the bus listening to loud marketing presentation of DVC and other Disney vacations. IT is annoying.

Did they change it? This summer, it just showed the different characters arriving at the resort, checking in and going swimming. And the last 3 times we've been this year, you can barely hear the sound. Must depend on the bus driver. I guess I"ll find out on Wednesday. We'll be going from the plane to the DME to the resort.
